Reviews
1. Their whole belly fried clams w/french fries (oh yes!)
2. Their chocolate mousse pie for desert (yes please!).
The fried clams are fresh, tasty and tender and the french fries are good, they’re seasoned. The chocolate cake to the mousse pie is always fresh and moist and the mousse rich and thick. I sometimes order these food items as take-outs as you can see in the photos. The restaurant itself is clean, casual and the staff are all smiles and eager to please. The restaurant has a handful of large, flat screen TVs to watch the game. People also bring their children to eat. Everyone has a good time. The owner often chats and laughs with the customers, he makes certain you have everything you want or need so to have a good time.
My wife and I stopped by yesterday. She ordered a onion and spinach pizza along with an order of mozzarella sticks while I got an onion pizza and also the mozzarella sticks. They were all cooked to perfection, the same quality I remember from 4 years ago.
The server was nice and attentive. The kitchen had actually made a mistake on our pizzas and they needed to be remade. Mistakes happen and I totally understand that. They were honest about what happened and they adjusted accordingly.
It’s shocking to see all the negative reviews of this place, definitely a minority but both times I have visited the food has been perfect and the quality of the staff is top notch.
The waitress informed me that the owners ship their ingredients for their pizzas in from Boston directly each week and the quality really reflects that. Coming from people who live near some of the top rated pizza joints in the world we tend to be picky and New Hampshire isn’t exactly known for it’s quality pizza so this was a great surprise. Some of the other ratings mention some consistency issues but what we experienced was top notch and could probably compete for best in state. I’ll be back for more whenever I’m in the area again!
We had fries, onion rings and a pizza with 2 toppings. Fried were hand-crafted and quite crispy. Onion rings, no complains.
The pizza though! Slightly chewy base, we’ll cooked but a slight turn off for me was the cheese. Idk, the taste felt more “packaged-cheese” than Dominos.
Could have been a four star, but the limited selection of drinks and some slack in service we received (forgot our beers order) takes one star.
But won’t hesitate to visit again! The patio is amazing!! Awesome views!!
Kids and wife got pizza, I got haddock with shrimp with veggies.
The good – The pizza was very good per kids and I tried it as well. Good size, crust done just right and good selection if toppings.
Not recommended – I understand this is the mountains, but $22 for a medium size fillet of haddock and 4 shrimp drowned in butter which overpowers the food (left a pool on my plate, see last picture) is a bit much. Wife didn’t like her pizza, no flavor, and greasy.
Update – we all felt the grease the next morning. Be aware, it’s greasy….
If you like fried mushrooms, then you’ll love theirs- clearly freshly battered and fried, not frozen. Note: the mushrooms are a massive appetizer-bring your appetite or bring a couple friends. The steak tips are out of this world: tender, juicy and delicious. Easily in the top ten best tips I have ever had.
