Russo’s Pizza Midtown is a hidden gem! I stopped by for their lunch combo, and it was both affordable and delicious. The Caesar salad was so fresh and flavorful, honestly one of the best I’ve had. The pizza and bread were hot, cheesy, and cooked just right.

It’s also a very family-friendly spot. On Sundays, you’ll see families gathered together, and kids eat free, which makes it a perfect weekend outing. Great food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere—definitely worth checking out!

Russos was super cute for a casual date! We tried the brooklyner pizza with the halal pepperoni and it was sooo good. Staff was very attentive 10/10 will be returning 🙂

If you’re in Downtown Houston and craving a slice that hits like home, Russo’s is a must. From the moment you walk in, the warm vibe and clean layout make you feel like you’re stepping into your favorite neighborhood spot. The staff is friendly and fast, and the pizza? Let’s just say it tastes like it was made with love and a New York attitude.

Their crust is perfectly crispy but never too hard, and the sauce is flavorful without overpowering the cheese (which is always bubbling just right). Whether you grab a classic slice or go for one of their specialty pies, you won’t be disappointed.

I love that this spot feels safe, welcoming, and family-friendly while still giving solo diners and couples a chill place to enjoy good food. Russo’s is the kind of place that reminds you why pizza night is always a good idea.

10/10 recommend. Support this spot — it’s the kind of small business that’s holding it down for the culture, one slice at a time.

After living in the neighborhood for a long time, we finally decided to try this place.
We got the Hawaiian pizza, and it was delicious. Nearly perfect.
The crust was crispy and crunchy around the edges, with no plastic tasting cheese and not overloaded with sauce. The ingredients tasted natural and high quality.

I’ve eaten at Russo’s on Gray St. several times, and each visit just reinforces the same conclusion: the food is mediocre at best. The bruschetta is a complete letdown — limp, soggy bread topped with oversized chunks of tomato that slide off like they’re trying to make an escape. The pistachio pasta was bland beyond belief, absolutely begging for salt — lots of it. The tomato soup was the only saving grace, but even that felt unfinished without a single crouton or a piece of bread to go with it.

The pizza slices are decent, but not enough to make up for the rest. And then there was the coffee debacle: we were told it would take a bit because it had to be brewed fresh — fine, no problem. But after patiently waiting, we were served cold coffee. That’s not just careless, it’s inexcusable.

Service was fair, considering our server was the only one working and the place got busier toward the end. Still, walking in to find the bartender already drinking wine at the bar didn’t exactly set the tone for a professional dining experience.

Overall, Russo’s on Gray is better suited for a quick slice to go than for any kind of sit-down meal. The food lacks care, the details are neglected, and the atmosphere feels indifferent. I genuinely wish they’d step up their game — but based on what I’ve seen, I’m not holding my breath

Russos has such great pizza, the food here other than pizza is super good. I’ve been to this location many times & each time it’s always great. Eric was also very kind & did a great job. The only thing i wish is that it wasn’t so quiet inside but other than that 5 stars 🙂

The vibe in Russo’s is so welcoming. I loved the food and the cleanness. My server was Flavio, he was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and helped me select a few really tasty items from the menu. He kept me and my guests laughing and we are surely going to come back because he was so wonderful. Thank you so much Russo’s for making our experience and pleasant one, now I understand why this restaurant was selected for “The Midtown Magazine”
