I’m a truck driver and was picking up a load nearby and really needed a place I could sleep for the night. I had no idea this restaurant was right next to the little truck stop, but was happy to see it just a few steps from my truck.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but when I walked in I was hit with the most amazing smell and beautiful Christmas decorations . Then much to my surprise a sweet, warm and inviting young lady named Madelin greeted me with the most genuine smile and welcome I’ve had probably ever! I used to work in the restaurant and bar industry before trucking and I can tell a great server when I see one!
She was absolutely excellent in her engagement and timing, thoughtfulness and natural way with her customers, which were mostly regulars.
The white chicken chili was fantastic and the roasted chicken really flavored it well! They even include salad bar with the Hot Beef dinner and it hit all the spots! Great homestyle food in a homestyle restaurant. The feel was very comfortable ☺️
The place is very roomy and clean and I’m a real stickler! I highly recommend this restaurant which I rarely do. I’ll DEFINITELY be back here! The cherry pie was great too! Wonderful crust, not too sweet!

Service wasn’t great, but the server was busy and appeared overwhelmed at times. Food was good and came to the table in a suitable time. Coffee was hot and that got topped off numerous times. Overall I’d go back – one of the better breakfast restaurants in Salina.

We came through here passing through from a family vacation. The food was good the portions were huge our favorite part about this experience was our incredible waitress Madeline. She was probably our favorite ever. She was sweet attentive and funny. She made the experience that much better. Would absolutely stop here again! What a breath of fresh air ❤️

My team decided to have breakfast for dinner! What a novel idea. This was a place you felt comfortable dining at.
I chose the Belgian Waffle, hash browns & sausage. I also chose the Cinnamon Roll but I got that to go.
My team decided on a full breakfast, eggs, bacon, juice, pancakes. Liked delicious but there was no wash I could eat that much!
Service was very good and friendly. If I lived here I could see myself being a regular.

Highly disappointed. Just moved here from out of state and trying to find a good place to become a regular.. this place will not be the one.
Waitress was friendly at first, I didn’t like the sweet tea I ordered because it was overly sweet and tasted like the urn was dirty from a week ago… I told my server I wasn’t fond of their tea and could I please have something different, she asked me what I’d like I chose root beer. She took my tea to the back and I heard her with my own ears say with a snide tone “she’s not ‘FOND’ of the tea” as if she was mocking me.
I ordered the French dip, best thing on my plate was the fries. The bread was toasted with nothing on it, the meat had no seasoning whatsoever and the “au ju “ was just brown water. No flavor, no thickness.. no anything but just a cup of brown water. They put my fries on top of a wet pickle..
Husband ordered an open faced burger and it had almost zero flavor.. no seasoning.. super bland.
When she delivered our food, my back is facing the front door.. she brought food from behind me, and didn’t even give me a chance to see her before she snapped “excuse me ma’am” to set my plate down in front of me. I didn’t even know she was behind me let alone ready to set a plate down in front of me. Overall, I wish I don’t HAVE to give a star to place a review.. not pleased in any way.

This used to be one of my husband’s favorite restaurants to stop at,,when we would travel from Hutchinson to Nebraska. He would always claim it was owned by a member of our family, as his last name was Russell. I was in Salina for the Labor Day weekend, and decided to go there for breakfast in his memory. I was SO DISAPPOINTED!!! The place has gone really downhill in 8 years! The building’s sign is just a plastic cloth that is hung up and torn to shreds. The service was still friendly and good, but my biscuits and gravy breakfast platter meal was served COLD! The gravy was even cold! I asked it to be reheated, and actually timed how long it took. It wasn’t even 30 seconds before they brought it back…barely lukewarm and plate was still cold to my touch, so I know it wasn’t reheated more than 15 seconds! I asked for a box to take it home. I wasn’t going to ask them again to get my meal HOT! It was raining outside, so a nice hot breakfast would have been nice! I did reheat it at home, and ended up dumping all but the eggs and hash browns in the trash. The biscuit tasted stale and the gravy had zero sausage in it, so no flavor. I won’t be going back again.

Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you, this place is packed with quality. Great food and service along with an inviting atmosphere makes a for an enjoyable breakfast experience. We were traveling through on our road trip and got hungry around 7am and saw on google maps that this place was near our route and about to open. So glad we stopped in!

Reminded me of the TV show, Alice. Was like going to Mel’s Diner, with out Flo The meal was well made and hot when it arrived at our table, fresh from the kitchen. Did not stay in the window long. The catfish was battered in flour, not corn meal. Different for me, but not bad. The chicken fried steak was half the plate size. Good flavor. Well seasoned and prepared. I’m not a fan of the white gravy, but the mashed potatoes had lumps. Not bad at all
