I have been stopping at Russ’ for years for the Creamed Turkey Sandwich. I enjoy it, but not today 2/18/26. I stopped for my sandwich dine in. A few minutes after ordering our waitress asked if I wanted a regular or gluten free bun. To which I said a regular bun. When my meal arrived, I noticed a dry looking bun and not the soft squishy bun it’s normal on. I asked my waitress and she said, they must have put it on a gluten free bun, “but they didn’t charge you extra for it” and walked away after saying the gluten free bun is what they use now and not the normal soft bun. I didn’t enjoy the sandwich at all.
The bill comes and we pay, but again asking the cashier if this is the new standard bun and she said no, but offered nothing more.
With the very tiny bit of turkey on the bun and the $8.75 price, I don’t think I want to take the chance I’ll get what I enjoy. The help didn’t seem to know the products they sell very well.
I used to enjoying going to Russ’ but in the last year, it’s been mostly disappointing.
Teach the employees to acknowledge when something is done incorrectly on YOUR end. You lost a good, long term customer with poor service and food quality being minimal.

Highly recommend. They never fail at serving fresh and delicious food. Fast and kind customer service. We even bought an 8 pack of homemade hot dog buns to take home! Amanda is very kind and fun. Hot fudge milkshake is delicious as well. I got mine to go after eating lunch Thanks y’all!

Russ’ on River has always been a family favorite! Its recent remodel is so cute and well done. It’s a Holland gem. The western burger is hands down the best burger in town. The fries are crispy and delicious.

Classic diner with friendly helpful staff. The pecan rolls and bread were a bit dry, but the gouda/ham omelette was good. They allowed me to substitute egg whites for my omelette as well.
