I love their deep fried pickles and their hamburgers are okay nothing to far out of the ordinary but only have ate here twice. I had a Reno burger that has pastrami on a hamburger it was ok. The bacon burger was better I thought that I had last time. The onion rings are delicious too so I would recommend them or the pickles. The setup is like an old A&W, I wish they would serve you on roller skates like the olden days.

To echo other contributors “Classic small town diner with fast, friendly service and very reasonable prices” Enjoyed a good old fashion bacon-cheese burger with fries and was rewarded with a dinner that you just can’t get at the franchise fast food eateries. Burger was very good and the fries were crisp and fluffy. I didn’t have a milkshake, which I’ve been told are stellar, next time I’m getting one.

Just moved here from out of state and December 17th was my first time here. My husband and I went for our birthdays. I loved the music, the cozy atmosphere, the pricing was great and the food was amazing and the waitress Meagan was really kind and helpful. Did some research and foundout rupes was established just a few months before I was born. I love the classic drive in feel and set up as well. I wouldn’t change a thing. This is going to be me and the family’s new go to favorite place

Tonight I went to eat at Rupes. I was there for 10 minutes a nobody came to take our order. A guy cleaned the table behind us and in 5 minutes people sat there. Then in less than 2 minutes the waiter went to their table. In the mean time we still waiting. I had to get up and asked a waiter what was going on. She apologized and took our order. However our table wasn’t hers.
She was very nice she took our order. I asked for a single burger with pepper jack cheese. When she brought the order they put the wrong cheese. I told her about the mistake. She even acknowledged that the cook had made a mistake. Then she took my hamburger back. They brought me back a cold hamburger. I noticed they took the cheddar cheese that in the bun and put a slice of pepper jack. By now the hamburger was cold.
I don’t know what was happening but the service was bad the food was cold. The waiter who wasn’t supposed to wait our table was nice but everything else suck.
I was very dissatisfied with Rupes.

I visited last evening because it was recommended by another friend of mine on things to do while in Blackfoot, Idaho. I was in a party of 3. Needless to say it was nothing special and I was disappointed. I ordered the Finger Steaks and fries. I was debating between the choice chicken strips basket or the Finger Steaks and fries basket. So I decided on the Finger Steaks. The food had no flavor!!! (See photos attached) The fries were cold, that’s a minus, I expected more because it’s a diner. The fries should have been full, fresh and hot. The fries I had were none of those. The Finger Steaks looked overcooked, bland and unappetizing. The best thing I had was the Sweet and Sour sauce. It had good flavor almost like a peach or apricot tangy taste. I also asked for BBQ sauce, just to try it. It tasted like it was from a bottle but I didn’t expect more because it’s restaurant and they aren’t known for their BBQ sauce like Outback. The service was ok. The waitress took our order, and another guy brought our food out to the table, and the waitress came back to refill our drinks… when we walked into the restaurant there was trash all over the floor, under many tables…the dining room needed attention. The restaurant was only 1/3 full, and it was Saturday night around 6:30 pm. My friend ordered a burger that had pickles and relish on it and he thought it was overkill to have both on the burger. Maybe that was a specialty of theirs? Overall, I would not go back. We were just passing through and I am glad we went but it was nothing monumental.

The burger was pretty good. I had the black and Blue burger, it was nice.
The cheese sticks weren’t anything special, maybe mine were just undercooked.
Everyone liked the rootbeer ice cream.
The staff is very friendly, the restaurant itself is a little old.

We love Rupes and make excuses to drive to Blackfoot often to eat there. The prices are amazingly low and portions are generous. The food and ice cream treats are delicious. I have only one complaint. The Reuben sandwich doesn’t have the classic ingredients that I love. It’s a tasty sandwich but not actually a Reuben.
