Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

Lettuce was gray and brown and limp and gross. Fish was burnt and fries were burnt. 11.00 meal and was not good at all. I usually love Runza.

Food was great, but the guy in the counter when we visited was rude. It was our first time in Runza and he was like getting annoyed that we don’t know the “rules” when ordering. He said in a off tone, if you want to order it as a meal SAY THE NUMBER NOT I WANT BLA BLA AND MAKE IT A MEAL.

I grew up in Nebraska, retired a year ago, moved to Illinois. They do not know what Runza’s are, so the Columbus, NE store made 35 original and 15 Swiss mushroom, they froze them, with the help of a employee Jason, this evening we packed them in 2 coolers, and he put them in my car! Fast service, food was good but I still wish they would bring back the onion dip. This location used to have a huge gym building behind it. I’m not sure what the new space has planned but it was different to see that huge building gone and new construction under way.

I just didn’t lize Runza the food item. Hamburger stuffed into dough or maybe it’s sealed into a sandwich. Regardless, it’s so greasy that the outside dough is translucent on the bottom by the time you get it. Other than that it’s a clean, well run fast food restaurant the food just didn’t live up to the hype my Nebraska relatives put on it.
