Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

Got a love Runza! Fries are awesome, F’rings are even better with the onion ring dipping sauce. They have the best strawberry shakes, but wish they’d bring back the old “large” size they used to have long ago!

Very Nebraska-specific comfort food. The Runza sandwich is warm, doughy, and oddly satisfying, especially on a cold day. It’s simple, a little nostalgic, and surprisingly filling. Fast-food setup, but locals clearly take this place seriously (and now I get why).

This place is a Nebraska staple. The Mushroom and Swiss is delicious. They also serve a French dip sauce which pairs perfectly with it. For a snack I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. Highly recommend, and they are every where!

My husband love loves runza….he says his food was fresh and good. I just can’t as I can’t eat what they are known for and what I did order was put sideways into the bag so that the cheese was stuck to the container. Fries are also super salty.

I ordered 6 meals and upgraded drinks to the large size. This was the worst 50 plus dollars I’ve spent on meals during this visit to Nebraska. The fries were all cold, dried out, hard and inedible overcooked sticks. One Runza was okay and freshish. The others were old with bread dried out hard breading. I. Will. Never. Go. Back. To. This. Runza. In fact it was so terrible, I may not go to any Runza again. I’m so disappointed, because whenever I travel to Nebraska, Runza was one of the 1st places I stopped by for some local flavor, but I’m going to scratch it off of my intown rotation list. Ewwwwwww

I went through their backed-up drive thru, and it was surprisingly fast and efficient. I hadn’t been here before. The employees seemed friendly. However, I was told there aren’t any onions in the mushroom runza, and it was slathered in onions. I did take a bite of the kids’ cheeseburger, and it was delicious, and the French fries were delicious. The kids’ meal did not come with a toy. I love that they chose Pepsi over Coke. My daughter can and will eat onions, and she reported she enjoyed the mushroom runza. I didn’t get any napkins in my bags.
