Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review for Runza in York, NE
Stopped by the Runza in York and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what you expect from a quality Nebraska staple. We ordered a couple of classic Runza sandwiches along with their signature crinkle-cut fries—everything was cooked perfectly and served promptly.
The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and bright, with plenty of seating and large windows that let in lots of natural light. Staff were polite and efficient, and the entire place felt well-managed and welcoming.
Special mention to how easy it was to read the menu—clear layout with good combo options, sides, and desserts. It’s great to see they still offer the classic Runza sandwiches while also having a solid burger and chicken lineup.
Highly recommend this location for a quick bite or a casual meal on the road. Great food, friendly service, and a clean environment—everything you’d want in a local favorite.
The Swiss Mushroom Runza sandwich was delicious. The mushrooms and Swiss cheese went well together, and the bread was soft and fresh. It was clear that Ranza uses quality ingredients, which made the sandwich very satisfying.
The onion rings were crispy and tasty, with just the right amount of seasoning. The runch sauce, a mix of ranch and some extra flavor, was the perfect dip for the onion rings.
Ryan, the cashier, was both professional and friendly, making sure I had a pleasant experience.
Overall, Ranza in York is a great place to enjoy homemade, fresh Midwest food. Whether you’re from the area or just visiting, I highly recommend stopping by for a delicious and comforting meal.
A runza (also called a bierock, krautburger, or kraut pirok) is a yeast dough bread pocket with a filling consisting of beef, cabbage or sauerkraut, onions, and seasonings.
I’m sure others love it
