Social Profile:

Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

Fast-food chain known for namesake German sandwiches, plus burgers, onion rings & crinkle-cut fries.

The portion sizes feel smaller and smaller in general every time I go to a Runza, while the prices go up.

I still love their chili & cinnamon rolls, the spicy Jack Runza, Swiss mushroom burger & Southwest salad 🙂

I decided to come here for a quick lunch while on a trip to do groceries, and I’m pleased to be reminded why Runza is so favored here in Nebraska. I had gotten the classic Runza with a side of crinkle-cut french fries and a drink of water. I immediately noticed how steaming hot the food was, which was how I like it. In my experience, some fast-food restaurants out there do a mediocre or poor job at this for their customers.

The freshness of the bread and the savory taste of the beef inside the Runza is another good thing to note, along with the soft and salty texture of the fries. It wasn’t mind blowing or anything, but the quality of the food is just enough to make you feel pretty satisfied you decided to come here. The water tasted good too, as it tasted like Dasani bottled water. The price for the food was less than $12, so pretty reasonable for the quality and the amount.

For the service, the cashier was nice and made no mistakes taking the order. To add to that, the food came out pretty quick, at around 2 minutes, so this is another plus.

As for the interior and atmosphere of the establishment, I would’ve liked some music to be played while I was eating, because I felt like the place was a little too quiet and dull. Granted, not many people were inside at the time, but I think something as simple as music can significantly improve the eating and social experience for a customer(s) dining in.

The tables, floor, front counter, and fountain machine were clean, but I felt like the interior design was too bland and boring. On the bright side, the building does have large windows that face 72nd street, so you can at least watch the cars and people pass by.

Overall, Runza delivers well on affordable, quick, feel-good food, but I think it needs to improve on the atmosphere of their establishments.

It’s been a bit over a year since we’ve been here. I had the Sweet Berry Chicken salad, and it was good. The service was slow and the tables weren’t clean.

Nice, new location with good food and great staff. I do with they had more low top tables. The high tops are hard with young kids. The dining room is fairly small.

was looking forward a nice cone from runza, and ended up with a 3 tiny cones. below i added pics of our ridiculously small cones vs the picture of how they show cones to look on the website. i have never had a problem with this before, but at this point we might as well of paid for a kids cone. i’m sorry but who would be happy receiving this? pls give people food worth their money!!!

I’m going to give this location a 4-star— because honestly MOST Runza’s are just amazing, but honestly my meal (Mush/Swiss Runza) was a 2 at best. They are doing something significantly different with the recipe at this location and it was a very powerful over seasoning of something. I’m pretty sure it onion (or maybe even dehydrated onion) I don’t know but it was overbearing and just way too much. Not the same as other Runza’s. Could just be a one time boo-boo or mistake- but even so, I will not chance it by coming back to this one. It took all I had to get the last few bites down. Otherwise all else was great. Service was great etc etc. (fries were amazing!) as always.

When in Nebraska why not try one of their premier sandwiches. The flavors of their fries and onion rings are homemade, tasty and filling.
