One of the best Cuban restaurants I’ve been to—the food, service, and ambience were all exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere and lively energy set the tone for a great dining experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything arrived perfectly.
The empanadas(especially Guava ones) were absolutely to die for—crispy on the outside with a rich, flavorful filling that made them impossible to stop eating. The Pollo Rumbero was the highlight of the meal, cooked perfectly with bold, authentic Cuban flavors that really stood out. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared, and it’s definitely a place I’d return to again.

We went to Rumba Cubana recently and had an amazing experience.. The service was also very good. We ordered Sopa De Lenteja(Lentil Soup),Calamares Rumberos( Fried Calamari),Trio De Empanadas Polio(Chicken Empanadas),Pargo Frito Entero ( Fried whole Red Snapper) served with fries and salad,Churrasco Rumbero( Beef steak) served with rice and black beans and La Gallinita Ciega ( Grilled chicken breast with rice and black beans) from the kids menu. Everything was scrumptious . I really loved the Red snapper. Also the beef steak came with fried prawns on top of it. One of our friends have seafood allergy and we requested if we could have the prawns separately in the side. They accepted the request without any hesitation. For dessert we ordered
Churros A Lo Cubano it was soo delicious.. very moist
and not over sweet. I loved the guava sauce served with it. Also we ordered few drinks, Pina Colada,Cocotini, a wine. Overall it was a 9/10 experience. Will definitely go back to explore other options.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent takeout order from Rumba Cubana placed today, 12/24/2025, about an hour ago. I spent almost $200 on this order and received portions that were shockingly small and completely unreasonable for the price.
I ordered salad, pernil, arroz moro, and ropa vieja, tostones, and rabo and the containers were less than half full. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, this level of portioning is unacceptable and feels careless at best. There is no justification for sending out takeout containers that are barely filled, especially for an order of this cost.
The server handling the order was Elizabeth B., and this experience reflects very poorly on the service and quality control at this location. At no point was I informed that portion sizes would be this minimal, and nothing about this order reflects the value or standards one would expect from Rumba Cubana.
I am requesting a refund and a clear explanation as to why this happened. This was meant to be a proper meal, not a collection of half-filled containers. Until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been a frequent customer at Rumba Cubana in Jersey City this year, and every visit has been wonderful. The food is consistently delicious and authentic, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the service is always friendly and attentive. It truly feels like a place that cares about its guests. I was jonesing for a Cuban sandwich and decided to try the one from this place. Let me tell you that this was fantastic, up there with the best Cuban sandwiches I can remember having when I was growing up in Washington Heights, NYC. Along with the fries, it was perfect. It was also super filling, I had to finish it off later on during the day. My coworkers had a chicken sandwich and a plate of bacalao and both were over the moon with their selections. Strongly recommended, the food and vibe were both very solid. I almost forgot to mention the margarita I had which was also perfectly made.

Popped in for a Sunday brunch at the bar to treat myself. No wait, immediate service. Alexis the super suave bartender whipped me up a custom golden spicy mohito (all his idea), was delicious, among the best I’ve had. Burger was out in 15 minutes, cost the same as a deli sandwhich, but was 10 times better, cooked to juicy perfection. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff who really seem to enjoy the job. 6/5 stars, would brunch again. Would have added a pic of the burger but I forgot, ate it too fast.

Food was really good. Entrees we’re large! Appetizers were amazing (especially the empanadas). Drinks were strong and delicious and well priced for a place like this. We got two piña colada’s. The staff worked together and was very friendly and kind I just didn’t like how when the bill came out they didn’t let us know at first that the tip was added already. Thought that was a bit sneaky. But besides that, great place! I’d come back. There’s a bunch of specials throughout the week so there’s great prices.
For 7 drinks, two entrees, and 4 appetizers out bill was $250 (typical for the area).

My husband and I shared three tapas which was enough food for us. We had empanadas, the plantains with pineapple guacamole and the seafood stuffed plantain. The empanadas were chicken (which I thought was a little dry), beef (excellent!) and spinach. Service was fast for an early Friday night. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant. It is in a nice neighborhood so you can walk to/from easily and it’s right across from Hamilton Park for a nice stroll after.

So, I did not eat here. I was waiting in line at an event down the street when I realized I needed a restroom — only number one, don’t worry. So I walked half a block and found this place. I walked in and asked if I could use the restroom. The host said yes and happily led me in the right direction. But the reason I’m leaving a review is because every staff member I encountered was super nice. And the whole place was clean and inviting, including the immaculate bathroom. There was even a gentleman in the restroom cleaning it. I’m a restaurant general manager and I’m recommending this spot based completely on its cleanliness and hospitality.
