It’s a fun place I had a good time. Drinks are stronger than usual and there’s always karaoke on the weekend. But make sure you go on a night when the guy is doing the karaoke. The lady on Friday nights is quite a witch and yells at you in front of everyone if you don’t understand her unclear instructions for signing up. She rudely slaps a barcode in front of you that takes you to Facebook which seems like a dead end. And when you ask her what to do she snaps on you. And she expects that everyone to know we’re suppose to message her on Facebook. The kicker was that she said I was like the tenth person to not understand. Remember Jeff foxworthy here’s your sign? I was appalled at her behavior and I actually am unsure if I would return because of it.

Awesome range and POWERFUL voice of the karaoke-master, Korwin, who runs this. Normally, it’s my singing I’m concerned with, of course. But her songs/ vocals were really remarkable. There was a fun/ supportive crowd with interesting/ varied song choices that I enjoyed listening to. The karaoke set-up is fine, with 2 monitors.

My girlfriend and I went here for a night out before she left town. The place is a pleasant hole in the wall. I was surprised that there was a decent parking lot next to the bar. We went there for karaoke and though I am not good with singing in front of people and getting stage fright. The people were very nice as I turned bright red! The song selection is decent and their drinks were served in a reasonable amount of time. Some things to note are there is only one stall in the very small girls bathroom so expect some lines.

The Rue is a great bar with cheap drinks and some good seating options. However, I gave it three stars because of the karaoke director. He often takes the mic away from groups and mutes the mic when guys try to sing. He is obsessed with hearing his own voice and will sing songs even when there is a queue of people waiting. I’m not sure what happened to the old karaoke guy but the bar seemed a lot busier when he was there.

The Rue is a Rockford favorite bar. You wouldn’t expect it to be such an awesome place, but it really is. It looks like an old bar, because it is, but the people that go are very cool. You’ll feel welcomed just by the atmosphere that the regulars provide. Karaoke nights are a great idea, whether you drink or not. This is a great bar, and the management is very nice.

Very cool place to hang out and is usually very lively. Draws a younger crowd versus an older one and plays great music with a wide variety. They do karaoke on some nights which has a fantastic selection of songs to choose from. Visually pleasing set up as well, I always have fun here and the people you meet are usually nice and don’t mind meeting or socializing with new people.

Seems kinda dive-y early on, after karaoke gets started it wakes up though and gets a younger crowd. We had a lot of fun! Make sure you lock your car outside though, and maybe bring valuables in with you or not to the bar at all – Rockford is sketch, and we found people looking into our cars and hanging around them multiple times

This place isn’t for everyone, I’ll start by saying. The rue is a place where if you planning a good time with a group of friends than this is the place to go, it’s no place for a person to just dwell into, especially if your not there to meet with a group of 4 or better. The karaoke seen is dominated by what appears as regulars and chances of you actually making to the stage to sing or even request a song is very slim as favoritism is at an all time high. Decent drink specials, alright drinks, nothing really special unless your talking back in 2013-16, other than that, the place has changed greatly, and it’s hard to say if for the better.
