I am visiting Cleveland from Indiana and saw Rudy’s as a local recommendation on Reddit. The only paczki I have ever had are from Meijer and these were stellar! I got 1 dozen of assorted sweet paczki, 1 savory, and 1 dozen pierogi. My total was around $55. No comment on the pierogi because I haven’t tried them but both the sweet and savory paczki were superb. Wait time was about 30 minutes but it is their busy season and they were only out of one flavor out of their many choices.

Rudy’s Bakery and Deli is a nostalgic mom-and-pop shop, nestled in the quaint suburban town of Parma, Ohio.

Adorned with historical artifacts from an erected metal telephone booth to L.P. covers of the late Lawrence Welk, Liberace, and Jim Neighbors to name a few. Above the entry doors, you’ll enjoy local children’s art, and packzi centerpieces in the walkway. Paczki boxes cover the windowpanes, handmade paczki chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a paczki box photo booth is tucked in the corner of the shop.

Trademark reasonably priced merchandise is neatly placed on shelves and tables aligning the windows and walls, and does a great job at diverting your attention from the twisting lines once inside. There are a few scattered antique metal chairs for guests (who could lose their place in line if seated or may get in the way of workers taking orders to customers’ cars).

The mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air around the shop and order forms are located on tables scattered about the shop.

The dense paczki is packed with a variety of flavorful buttercreams. Perfect for any palate neither the dough nor the cream is too sweet. I had the maple, maple bacon, apple, strawberry, and Valentine’s fresh strawberry chocolate. There were a variety of other options like the Sauerkraut and Kielbasa Sandwich on a Paczki bun, which I haven’t tried yet.

Customer service was moderate to slow. The person who assisted me was rude and not sympathetic to this being my first visit or the fact that we’d been in line for an hour and a half. She appeared irritated by my inquiry about pricing as there is a visible pricing list. Perhaps her lack of good customer service can be attributed to her young age.

I would suggest ordering in advance for the elderly, handicapped, or those with time constraints. While visiting I witnessed an elderly lady fall from standing in line too long. The older staff ran to her aid and were very attentive to her, their quick response kept everyone calm and she left unscathed.

Over all an okay experience, the other guests in the line were friendly and very helpful educating us on the history of the shop, Polish customs, and language. They definitely added to making my experience pleasurable.

I heard great things about their packzi, so I wanted to give it a shot. The people were amazing. The selection and store were great. Sadly the bakery itself came in below giant eagle. The fillings were just plain donut filling. The dough was slightly dry and not sweet at all. They fell well below their hype. I would say they are average overall. But I am a packzi snob and have been looking for the best for years, and these definitely are not them.

Visiting for the first time and loved it. Very busy for a pre holiday but they had a lot in stock. Pierogies, cookies, strudel, etc. all for decent prices and to be honest I’d rather pay for local vs big time corporate. The vibe inside is pleasant and the definition of Parma’s history of its people.

I stumbled into Rudy’s by accident. I’m from out of town visiting, and was just looking for some Cheese or cherry Danish…they had both. This place is fabulous for desserts or fresh baked breads. It’s a mom and pop bakery and I believe I saw a sign in there “Since 1948”. A must visit if you’re in the Parma area of Cleveland, and craving a genuine Sweet.

On Thursday 02/19/26, I went to Rudy’s for the first time and the Paczski’s I purchased were all dry and hard. The service and atmosphere was alright but they a ridiculous order form everyone has fill out. Some types are not on the order form. It’s gotta be a Pollock thing. Why you can’t just say what flavors you want is beyond me.

Recently moved to the area and I saw the collaboration with Malley’s chocolates that made my wife and I really want to try Rudy’s out.

I first stopped over on Tuesday of last week and waited in line about 20mins to submit a pre-order form for Friday. I would have submitted online but they didn’t have an electronic form to submit or even over the phone but I couldn’t get through. I work about 20mins away, so I drove over during my lunch.

Friday came along, which seems like the day everyone wanted to pick up or had placed pre-orders for. Factoring in the 40min round trip and 1.5 hour wait, it was very late to return to work as I only get an hour lunch. Unfortunately, after work was not an option. I marked down a star for service because the amount of people wasn’t better managed with a different system than 2 registers and packing as people placed new orders in. Pre-orders I expected to be able to grab, pay, and go.

But service outside of the wait was extremely polite and friendly.

When it comes to the food, they absolutely nailed it! The paczkis were extremely fresh and soft. The fillings were also super fresh. My wife’s favorite was the Boston Crème. I loved the Malley’s chocolate toffee. We also got one filled with sausage and peppers. And I lastly got a strawberry bar. Very fresh and excellent tasting baked goods.

Would I go back? Yes!
Would I wait in line again for an hour and a half and be late going back to work? No

Went for lenten Paczis. Great selection with so many different flavors. They had some neat props for selfie. Also bought their pierogi. They had a lot of flavors of those as well.

Great pastries. The services during high volume. ANTICIPATED high volume like Fat Tuesday and no leadership to counter staff. Young kids conversing and doddling while a line 2.5 hours long is waiting. Zeroborganization behind the counter. If someone was directing their staff behind the counter the line would move seamlessly instead of one at a time with the painstaking look of confusion on employees faces.
