We celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday here. Unfortunately, huge disappointment, I give them extra tips and add birthday celebrations option for the reservation, but the plating for the birthday cake looks sad. I feel like they just use their bare finger to write down Happy Birthday. We didn’t have a good quality time there, and I can’t believe a fancy restaurants couldn’t come up with a better plating design. So disappointing !!! The only thing I recommend to try is the crab cake, it’s firm and rich consume with the sauce. The steak is normal and nothing special, but with an expensive price. Everything just not what I expected. Furthermore, they also didn’t let us know before hand that they will charge split plate fees, total rip off. Don’t recommend to come here for celebrating anniversary or birthday, most of the items are plain and normal. Once again huge disappointment with the plating design. Doesn’t feel like celebrating birthday. Looks like celebrating divorce. In short, if you want to enjoy the vibe the place it’s here, but if you want to enjoy steaks, just go outback or Texas Roadhouse or other branch steakhouse for better price.

The weather was beautiful so we sat on the patio, it was nice except for the traffic noise. I recommend going between 3 and 5 so you can order from the Happy Hour menu. Really good prices on the happy hour menu for the most part, the burgers are $4 less but don’t include fries, it cost an additional $4 to add fries .
We had the apple gargonzola salad
The Mac and cheese
Hand cut steak bites soo tender!
Filet mignon medallions
We had two servers both were excellent!

We went there for my Birthday dinner and had the best service by all the staff. Got seated almost right away at the time of our reservation. Meighan was our server and was on top of making my day very special. Everyone was so wonderful and all the food was a 10/10! Thank you and will definitely be back again!

The best steak I’ve ever had!
I tried to take pics of the mushroom appetizer but it was gone before I had the chance. We devoured everything in the blink of an eye. The food is incredible as well as the service. The best restaurant in town.

Went to Rudy’s for our Anniversary. Great atmosphere and decor, soft music in the background, staff were very friendly, and food was cooked to perfection. Higher end steakhouse and prices were not too bad, food alone was right at $100.

GNO started with happy hour on the patio at Rudy’s. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere on the patio was nice with the linen table clothes and sound of water from a nearby fountain, our server was efficient and friendly and the food was bomb!
From the happy hour menu I ordered the steak bites (Santa Fe) $14 the wedge salad $12 and a side of fries $4 (just to try them!). The steak bites were in a delicious gravy, the wedge salad was fresh and delicious and the fries were just okay. No big deal. Wouldn’t order those again.
The restaurant serves bread and butter to the table so that was also a nice addition to the meal.
I highly recommend Rudy’s happy hour! The menu is extensive and you get a flavor of one of Salem’s finest restaurants at a decent price.

Update: We love Rudy’s but I was extremely disappointed this time around with the Chicken Marsala, it had no flavor and I have gotten this dish 3 times now. I don’t know if they careless at lunch time? But this was not good! We will still go back but I definitely won’t order it again.

Original: Rudy is on the higher end but worth the incredible atmosphere, service and food! Perfect date spot! The Brussel sprouts alone are worth the trip!!

This place definitely had a steakhouse vibe, but it looked fancier than it was.

We ordered some drinks, and they were all very good. Our tequila shots were a nice heavy pour, which you would expect for $14 each. The Mojitos were also good.

The bread came. It was not warm. It was room temperature, and the butter looked to have been compounded, but I couldn’t really identify by flavor, what was in it. The calamari was as expected. It was crispy and the sauce was nice and spicy.

When the salad came, it was a little disappointing. None of them were chilled. They were just room temperature lettuce on top of room temperature plates. Steakhouse salads should always come on cold plates. Milled pepper was not offered. The soup we ordered was no longer available and so we were given an alternate soup.

Some of the entrées were good and others were not. The cowboy bone in ribeye was absolutely wonderful. It was cooked to the perfect temperature and was seasoned exactly as it should be. The pork chop was a very thick cut of meat and very tough.

The shellfish fettuccine was fantastic. It had well cooked scallops and two prawns. It was supposed to come with crab, but I gently forked through the entire portion and could not find any crab at all. There were a whole lot of tiny bay shrimps, but not one sign of crab. For $54, that was definitely disappointing.

The steakhouse pasta was fine. It was not remarkable, but it did not taste bad. I wouldn’t order it again.

Our party ordered two marionberry cobblers, and a blueberry bread pudding. Of the two, I would definitely suggest the cobbler. The bread pudding was dense and eggy, and did not have any crispy edges. It was a little boozy, but not at all worth the $12. The cobbler on the other hand was a large portion of deliciousness with three scoops of ice cream on top. It was enough for two, maybe three people to enjoy.

The whole dinner was kind of hit or miss. I would go for steak, but I definitely will not order pasta or any other meat there.

The service was standard. Our waitress was monotone, but efficient. When we asked if there were any specials, she just stared at us about a minute later she told us that steaks were 10% off we would not have known that had we not asked.

The restaurant was clean, and the food came out quickly. I would bring people here who specifically wanted steaks, but I didn’t feel like the prices reflected the service or the quality of the food.

I had another great experience at Rudy’s tonight Sat at the bar tonight where I had incredible service from the bartender Tommy. I decided to try the fish. In the past I had steak, since this is a steak house. But the fresh salmon fillet covered in lobster sauce was amazing. The veggies and potatoes were also perfectly prepared. I had 2 incredible craft cocktails. A weller bourbon sour with a splash of mint and a spanish coffee to finish my dining experience. The bar is the best place to sit for a great experience!
