We had a lot of family visiting in town that wanted to get together and eat good food, not break the bank and also not have to worry about reservations. We heard that Rudy’s was a solid spot to check out so thought it could be the perfect spot and it was!

Fast casual setup, vast open seating, clean tables, clean restrooms. Easy in, easy out, and solid Texas BBQ vibes.

Service was great. Super patient and friendly, greeted us when we came in and they even offered samples of the prime rib and pork loin before we committed to how much we wanted. That alone deserves a shoutout!

Here’s what we ordered:
• Prime Rib – Honestly the star of the show. Great price, beautiful marbling, solid bark, juicy and pink inside. Perfectly seasoned. And that horseradish sauce?? So unique and addicting! I genuinely wanted to take extra home and put it on everything! I might have to get extra next time!

• Moist Brisket – Tasted good. Not the best brisket we’ve ever had in Texas (let’s be honest, that’s a high bar), but for a quick, no-wait option? It was great!

• Pork Loin – A sleeper hit. Juicy, well seasoned, nice smoke flavor, and super lean. This would be AMAZING for weekly meal prep. Not a cut you see everywhere and they did a great job with it!

The pickled jalapeños and carrots are BOMB. Spicy with a great snap. Plus you get free pickles, bread, onions, and sauce, always appreciated.

We really loved that they offer meats like pork loin and prime rib that you don’t always see at BBQ joints, and they execute them really well! We’ll absolutely be back for those in particular!

Apparently we need to try the banana and chocolate pudding next time as we’ve heard it’s good. Overall a solid stop!

So I wanted to check out this spot I’ve never been here before I’ve been to other Rudy’s but I just wanted to check this one out. I had received a gift card to Rudy so I wanted to come and use it this place is pretty decent pricing I would say is reasonable but I mean it’s barbecue guys we know it’s not cheap. It was super clean inside all the tables were super open TVs all over the place everyone was super friendly and very informative if you had any questions The restrooms were very clean I was very surprised I will say though unless they have more restrooms that I didn’t see if that place is super packed and people are using the restroom there’s going to be a line but other than that no biggie. I ordered a two meat sandwich I got turkey and I got brisket and it was really good and then I got a side of potato salad and banana nut pudding which I love. All in all I would definitely come back.

Love love love this place and I live in Lockhart, the BBQ Capital of Texas. This place blew me away!! I judge my BBQ places by their banana pudding. If they do t have real bananas, they lose points. This place had bananas. I suggest they add more but I was happy. Slice brisket sandwich was delicious in every way.

**Edit: Spoke with the district manager and he sent me a gift card to make up for my horrendous experience. The card is worth a measly 40 bucks. That doesn’t even cover my meal that was thrown in the trash. Literally threw it away it was so dry and y’all cant even compensate for a full meal. Lol. Great job, Rudy’s. Your district manager just cost you a customer that’s been with you since the 90s

Terrible experience. Zero stars.

Just ordered online and arrived over 15 minutes early only to see my food is already sitting there getting cold. No worries, I think. Rudy’s has never (and I mean never) done me wrong and they just had the food ready really quick is all. So I get home (literally 5 minutes away from the restaurant) and am greeted by the driest, saddest excuse for brisket I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a Rudy’s customer since the early 90’s and am appalled by what I just paid over $40 for. Whoever is the running that location should be utterly ashamed. I thought the bad reviews were just being harsh. Nope. Way worse than I could have imagined. This is the first time in my over forty years on this planet that I can say I’ve had bad brisket. And the “coleslaw” or whatever that garbage was. Looked like it was made with water instead of mayo. Do better, Rudy’s. Do way better.

Our frequent go-to for dining. We love the Jumbo Baker with brisket and add some sausage on the side as well. Another go-to is the half chicken. Tasty and delicious! Never disappoints.

Bonus: Felix is always welcoming and a pleasure to chat with when we dine. He makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. Always smiling and making us feel at home.

Had a to-go order. Got a family meal with extra meat. Everything was packed wonderfully! Such great portions. Such a good amount of fixings too. (Bread, pickles, onions, etc) Will be going back! Everything tasted great. Customer service was excellent too.

Rudy’s has been a favorite of mine for breakfast tacos for twenty years. In the last four years I haven’t lived near one so when I was in the neighborhood yesterday morning I was excited to take my son there for breakfast. We ordered at the grill and after paying for our tacos we proceeded to watch seemingly catatonic staff wander aimlessly around the grill and not complete anyone’s order. It wasn’t even busy. After ten minutes I realized that we weren’t going to get service so I went to the front counter and asked the guy running the register if we could just take some of the grab and go tacos from the hot case in exchange for the fresh made tacos we ordered that weren’t being prepared. He said sure (didn’t care in the least that the clowns at the grill weren’t doing anything remotely close to preparing food) so we grabbed tacos out of the hot case and left. Big mistake. I should have tried the food before driving off. We were hungry and those tacos were so bad we threw them away and hit a McDonalds down the road. Tortillas were soggy and under cooked. Tasted like I was eating tortilla dough. Eggs were dry and sausage was definitely two days old. I wouldn’t eat at Rudy’s if the food was free. I am just relieved we didn’t get food poisoning. Not sure how but somewhere up the line there must have been a chance at the corporate level that’s turned what used to be a “sure thing” place to eat into such a complete disaster.

This place has the BEST turkey sandwiches! And the onions, pickles, and cherry peppers (red ones are the best) are so fresh and juicy! But guys, who the hell is handling the lemons? They’re cut so small there’s barely any lemon to squeeze. Plus they’ve been left out so long and not fresh that they smell like pinesol wood cleaner. I love you guys and I will always come back. Just give your lemons more love. Quarter them instead of cutting them so small that your leaving wilted carcasses of lemons in the bin.

Atmosphere and staff was amazing friendly and welcoming definitely would reccomend dining in to enjoy fresh as possible.
