Didn’t expect much in dead of winter in Solomons but this place was great. Food was good, regular beers or choose from their in house brews, friendly service. Lots of tv’s, huge parking lot, and very clean bathrooms. Don’t remember our bartenders name but he was great too!

One of my favorite places in here as I was a regular in here for many years, the beer and food quality, service is consistently good with a good and friendly atmosphere. I’ve know Carlos Y., who co owns both the restaurant and the Hilton Hotel right across the parking lot. On this occasion, I’ve tried the empanadas, chips and a 2 Dz. Oysters which they’re big, very fresh and delicious and sourced locally from Piney Point, MD.
Bre, our server she was very attentive at their large bar area which is a great place to get a quick seat to place your food order if you don’t have a reservation.

We tried about 3 different beers choosing “Rudy Hell” to be the best one according to our taste and also being indicated to be one of the most popular beers. Last, Ruddy Duck was nominated back in 2011 to be voted the best beer in MD!

Great place to hang out and enjoy great fresh food. Fresh as the day Oysters (local farm) every Thursday, along with Argentine Beef flown in and prepared by the owner himself. Ribeyes, great crab cake’s and atmosphere to go with it.
The Margarita pizza is delicious, recommended by our server Ilsa.
Owner “Carlos” is very personable and runs a great restaurant and staff.
Short drive from the city to relax in the comforts of a small town feel and great food. I’ll be back myself for another round soon.
Thank you Ruddy Duck!

A big yes from us! We came in for lunch today and had the pleasure of being served by Cole, she was so helpful and kind to us in choosing what to order as first timers. We didn’t have a single bad item and we tried many things- wings, duck fat fries, Reuben egg rolls, French dip and fish tacos were all so good. Also got a side of the dill coleslaw, which is genius, I never thought to add dill to coleslaw. The beers were also delicious and I wish they would bottle them for purchase, they have something for every one. We can’t wait to go back and hope to patronize for years to come!

Where to start? I had their duck burger, and it came with the tomato, lettuce, and pickles on the side so you can kind of customize it. It was probably the best buns I’ll ever have outside of my kitchen (because I’m going to have to attempt to recreate them now). When I mentioned that to the waitress, she proudly told me they were a from scratch house, where mostly everything is made from scratch. Because of that, things are usually hit or miss. They were brioche buns, and if you’ve ever had the pleasure of biting through the thin crunchy crust of a fresh bun just to meet the soft interior of a brioche bun, you know other commercial buns just don’t compare. And I’ve had my fair share of in house buns, and they also have come nowhere close. The bun also changes texture the as you keep eating, because you squish the burger to hold it. It was great. With that said, the burger patty was completely too salty. That is, unless you eat it with with the said pickles, which was again, done in house. They were crunchy and just sweet enough, not too vinegary. I just wish they had either balanced the pickle and the patty in a way that they weren’t so dependent on each other for balanced taste, or recommended people eat it that way. I usually don’t like pickles and the only reason that I discovered that these pair great with the burger was due to me wanting to try to like new things. Someone who doesn’t like pickles could’ve tried to finish the whole burger without it and struggled through a salty burger. Back to the patty, even though it was salty, I really did enjoy the texture of it. The chunks of duck weren’t too big or small, it was fried nicely, and it somewhat had the bouncy texture of a sausage. I didn’t ask the waitress, but after she made that from scratch comment, I’m assuming they ground the meat in house as well. I saw a comment box outside and would like to suggest coating the rim of the burger with coarsely crushed peppercorn (black if you want it to be sharper and green if you want sharp and bright) and if you pick black peppercorn, maybe add a lemon rind infused clarified herb oil(blend with herb, strain till clear, infuse with lemon rind)
Other things I had: crab dip. There was plenty crab in this, but I was struggling to taste it’s sweetness through the cheese. It was shredded too finely. I would suggest adding in large chunks here and there so there’s lumps of sweetness. This would also improve the texture of the dip.
Duck fries: fries that were fried in duck fat, and sprinkled with Parm. I wasn’t a fan. These are homemade fries, and it seems they were just cut and fried. I dislike these type of fries since they are often no longer moist and fluffy on the inside by the time the outside is crunchy/crispy enough. They also always taste slightly over cooked to me as well. I prefer parboiled fries, but seeing as mostly everything is done from scratch and this is an issue of scale of production and profit margins(they don’t just order them frozen like everywhere does and it takes a lot of dedicated fridge space to parboil and chill fries) I can see why they went with this. Also maybe people just prefer this type of fry and I’m weird. Just my two cents on the fries.
Beer flight:
Peach noveau: tastes really crisp and refreshing, fruity without being sweet or artificial
Honey wheat: very nice and light, slightly fruity and floral
Swift tail: too dark in flavor to be the medium it was supposed to be
Overall I give them 5 stars because even with the hiccup of a really salty patty, it balanced out really well with the pickles and the bun was great. I always enjoy a place that constantly experiments and does a lot of things from scratch. It takes more dedication. If they keep the chef or whoever creates the recipes, I would like to come back every couple of years(I’m not local to the area) to see how they’ve progressed as a chef. Only, because I’m not a local though, I can’t tell you the consistency of this place, so hopefully it’s consistent and everyone has the same or better experience than me with the burger.

Who told this place to be so yummy—Honestly this will be my go to spot whenever we are in the area! I don’t even like beer like that and my husband ordered a flight of beers and told me to try two of them because he knew I would love it and he was not wrong. Do I like beer now? They were so delicious, so I recommend you to try them. It was the dragon fruit and the peach beer.

We came in here an hour before closing time. We understand that employees may want to wrap things up but we still expected service. We were ignored at the bar and the host didn’t want to sit us in the dining area. Then when we got service they forgot our tacos. When our waitress asked the cook to make them they said they have already put the cooking oil away. The pizza was ok but we were already turned off by then. Just not a good experience overall, would not recommend, especially since there are a lot of other great restaurants around.

We visited this place on New Year’s Eve and they accommodated us 30min before closing which I really appreciate! We tried a couple of their vegetarian offerings, the stir fry rice and the hummus appetizer. The hummus appetizer was decent and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, but the hummus itself was a bit oversalted. The rice was not great and was quite undercooked. Overall I won’t complain too much considering that they were trying to finish the orders around closing time (8pm). Loved their warm apple cider!
