Off the bat they were busy when we showed up. Waited about a hour due to a show nearby. Food was expensive (but definitely normal for the type of restaurant, but not worth the hour wait at the time but all the extra circumstances certainly didn’t help… Waitress was nice but busy since we had to go to her to ask for the check etc at the time and refills were more like a refill in their x2 shot glass stacked on each other cup. ALL in all It was honestly a meh experience at the time even after the aforementioned rush died down once we were seated. Prices are steakhouse basically no matter what you get (for example my meal was basically 50ish for my oval bowl of Mac with x6ish pieces of lobster) wasn’t bad tasting but definitely disappointing for the aforementioned aspects.

Non food stuff
We were given a free dessert as a sorry / thank you from the patience from the waitress so that was nice. More patience then I seemed to get for my review if you ask me haha.. but to be fair initial things like tone can be hard to interpret when you type.

Oh and unless I misheard they do 2 drinks only rule if I overheard correctly from one of the staff. Which is nice thing to enforce by the way. Anyways experience was like a 3.5 more so then a 3 but I’m pretty basic need wise and just blunt. Not a bad experience but just disappointing due to the extra stuff / service at the time.

First off, the service in this steakhouse is top notch. Host was excellent and accommodating for all of our needs. The steak was beautifully cooked and the appetizers were incredible. I especially recommend the thick cut bacon. Pricing was definitely reasonable for the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this place!

If steakhouses had a hall of fame, this place would already have a gold-plated ribeye bust out front.
From the moment you walk in, you know you’re about to make excellent life decisions. The vibe is classy but not “I need a tie,” the service is confident without hovering, and the smell alone should be illegal without a warning label.
The ribs were perfection!!!
Let’s just say my knife did less work than I did chewing gum as a kid. Perfectly cooked, seasoned like the chef knows your ancestors, and so tender it basically apologized before melting in my mouth.

Sides are not “afterthoughts” here — they’re supporting actors stealing the scene. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and clearly prepared by people who care deeply about flavor and your happiness. I ordered the wedge saland and the blue cheese dressing was the best in the western hemisphere!
Also the macaroni and cheese was so good we ordered another bowl for desert!!

The woman that sat us and served us deserves a standing ovation. Friendly, knowledgeable, and somehow always there exactly when you need here — like steakhouse ninja.
Bottom line:
Come hungry. Leave happy. Question why you don’t eat here more often. If you’re celebrating something, this is the place. If you’re not celebrating something, you will be by the time dessert shows up.
I didn’t just have dinner — I had an experience.
10/10. Would loosen my belt again.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. This Bone-in Ribeye was super buttery and soft! I could cut into it with a fork. Also the sides were amazing, perfect pair with the steak. Joining the Army in a couple days so this was an amazing “last” dinner.

When visiting NYC from Florida, we took the Staten Island Ferry for the first time to go to a show in the St. George Theatre. We met up here for dinner and were all pleasantly surprised at how awesome dinner. Walk into a not fancy place, but warm and cozy like home, which makes sense because it is a great family run restaurant that smells so delicious inside. The service was attentive and we all had wonderful meals. The family we met here for dinner, said they will be back here again!

Great steak dinner! Shared the ribeye for my wife’s birthday was plenty. Great appetizer (seared sesame ahi tuna). Delicious clam chowder. Michaela our server was a gem. Owner chatted us up after our meal like we’s ol friends. Nice place and great experience as well

I was always brought up to patronize mom and pop businesses and this place is a gold mine. The first time I went there I was introduced to the owner Danny and he accommodated us and was very friendly.
From the boss boy to the bartenders, totally positive attitudes, and the food was melting in my mouth. Of course I got the steak and the potato special that day and shared it with my wife and went back two weeks later with my friend who is all overwhelmingly impressed as most people think you have to go into Manhattan to get a great steak

On our first time visiting the Empire Outlets and our first ride on the Staten Island Ferry, we decided to walk across the street and dine at Ruddy and Dean American Steakhouse.
The service was professional and attentive. I always appreciate when a carafe of water is placed on the table. I don’t like having an empty glass and I don’t like wasting time looking for my server to refill my water, so that’s a plus.
The old bay crab mac and cheese was beyond delicious and decadently appealing. Probably in the Top 3 of Mac and cheeses that I’ve enjoyed.
At $24, it may seem expensive but the serving size is more than generous and the taste justifies the price.
We had a NY Strip and Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. It may be against their steak philosophy, but A1 sauce would be a nice option although the steaks were fine without it.
The atmosphere is not fancy but it has a cozy and friendly feel. There are monitors at the bar that are visible to other diners who enjoy watching sports.
Traveling from Queens, I believe our family will make this trip and visit this steakhouse again.

One word about this place, WOW!! If you love steak this is most certainly the place to come to if visiting Staten Island. Less than a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal.
Staff are nice, friendly and helpful, beers are lovely and ice cold too.
The Philly Grilly cooked rare was “perfection on a plate.”
As a visitor from the UK I will definitely be returning here next year!!!
