Are you kidding me?? I was totally blown away by the portions. I only ordered the half tandoori and it seemed like a whole chicken worth. Four huge pieces of nan bread. My wife ordered the paneer biryani. Omg !!
The flavors! The spices! I have found the west indies! This food is authentic Indian food not watered down like “Americanized” Indian food. You will not be disappointed! Price is very reasonable and you will have leftovers!

This humble food carts is cranking out some serious food. They offer many proteins, such as goat, lamb, chicken. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten free as Indian food doesn’t involve much. The food will take some time as it is made to order in many instances and rightfully should be! I highly recommend any of the Pakoda dishes. The samosas are on point and the lamb saag is tasty! Give this spot a shot! There is not enough good Indian food in Salem.

We stopped in for a pint at Shades of Brew and I’m so glad we did. They have this amazing Indian Food Truck in the back called Ruchi and the food was so good, so good. We just moved back to the US after sixteen years and we have really been wanting some authentic Indian food and this is the place. My Butter Chicken and Naan were amazing, do yourselves a favor and stop in for a pint and some Curry. You won’t be sorry. Super friendly service as well! 10/10

Saw all these 5 star reviews so I was excited to try
We got Tandoori Chicken (half order), Paneer Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan
Here is my honest review:
Menu says Tandoori Chicken (Half) is half chicken but turned out to be 2 pieces of chicken thighs
Taste was not bad but nothing mind blowing
Charging $17.99 for 2 chicken thighs with no rice must be a joke
Paneer Tikka was sour and a bit watery
Rice was mushy
Garlic naan was thin and dry
Overall, very disappointing and won’t be returning

Possibly the best Indian food I’ve had. The butter lamb was delicious and paired great with the paneer biryani. The Tandoori chicken blew me away; perfectly cooked and full of flavor with just the right amount of crispiness. 100% worth the stop.

This is a great place to get Indian food! As an Indian, I haven’t found many good options in Salem, but this is the best one so far. I highly recommend the tandoori chicken and the biryani — they offer several protein choices like egg, chicken, goat, and lamb. The vegetarian options are also delicious. Give this food cart a try; I’m sure you’ll want to come back again!

Seating area was clean, roomy, comfortable and friendly. The owner was extremely polite. The food was outstanding. I have only had this one dish (SAAG) with chicken over rice and naan bread. The bread is warm and soft, really good. Chicken was soft and juicy in the best way. The spinach gravy sauce is so smooth; almost buttery. The spices were well pronounced but not overly. This was possibly the best Indian food dish I have ever eaten.

Moved to Oregon 6 months ago and have been trying to find good Indian food without having to drive all the way to Portland. Actually kind of mad at myself for taking this long to try Ruchi.
Speaking as someone who grew up with an Indian best friend whose mother fed anyone who came over, this tastes like home. I haven’t had vindaloo this good in over 20 years. The spice level is perfect; the flavors are beyond on point.
Can’t guarantee how long I’ll be in Oregon before work moves me again, but as long as I’m here Ruchi is the only indian food that will get my money.

Genuinely one of the best food trucks we’ve been to with amazing Indian food! The spice level was perfect. Would highly recommend the paneer and chicken tikka masalas. Would go out of my way to come out here again!
