To be my first time trying the chilaquiles, they had good flavor. I added the chipotle sauce and it was even better. The service was quick and friendly.

Ordered a Special steak burrito as is: 70%rice, 20% black beans, etc. and the rest 10% protein. Flavor was ok but basically felt like no meat in it. Maybe I’ll be more lucky next time.

I love Rubio’s but I’m not sure if I can go to this location anymore. 20 minutes minimum to get my food every time, even when its completely empty. 30+ minutes for ONE burrito a few times. I don’t expect McDonald’s fast but this is beyond sit-down restaurant times. I keep thinking its an exception but Its been this way for my last 6+ visits. This last time though (5/2/2023), it was over 25 minutes, the restaurant wasn’t busy, and the food was cold! I brought my mom here and we ate in, I had 3 fish tacos, she had a shrimp bowl and both of our meals were cold, after almost half an hour of waiting. I wanted to bring the food back but I don’t want to be that guy, better to just not come back. Even my mom complained and she never complains about anything lol. Nearby legitimate sit-down Mexican restaurants are a better value and faster at this point.

Food at Rubios is always amazing. I’m a little disappointed with their service. I could give them 3 stars for fixing my problem, but I had to drive back after waiting almost 25 min for my food. I ordered 4 Shrimp Trio plates, but wanted all Salsa Verde Tacos. The girl at the register asked how to order the food that way, and I’m assuming someone experienced showed her how to put it in. I should’ve looked at my receipt because my order was incorrect there, that’s my fault. I overheard the girl making my Salve Verde tacos ask about Salsa Verde Tacos and the girl at the register said “yes all Salsa Verde Tacos.” I figured I was good to go. When I got my order I decided to look to make sure it was correct in the car and ALL 4 Shrimp Trio had the 3 different tacos. I didn’t have time to get the order fixed because I had to make it in time to drop off lunch to my son at his lunch break at school. I decided to drive back and get the rest of my order fixed. That took another 15 minutes. Note to self, double check your receipt because they’ll still get the order wrong.

Honestly, I feel like customer service is really poor at Rubio’s lately we stopped going to the one on Santa Ana Canyon Rd. Because of how awful the customer service is. I feel like people who are bitter at the cash register should have some sort of customer service skills or they should quit because they make the atmosphere negative and it throws us off, and that’s how you loose customers.

Food is good and the fish tacos are delicious. However, BE AWARE of the difference of the fish taco specials. There is one they just comes with tacos and a drink for $6.99 and another that comes with tacos, rice, beans and chips for $6. I figured they were the same until I got my food. The advertized “TGIFF” looks way better then what I got.

I always get the coastal trio, and they consistently make the tacos perfect. Great customer service as well. No complaints aside from how long the wait can be sometimes, Besides that a great experience every time.

So Rubio’s food proves itself on it’s own. That’s a given. Customer Service leaves much to be desired. I was standing at the counter and didn’t get acknowledged until I spoke up. Staff were busy exchanging banter among themselves, and made me feel as though I was at THEIR party, without an invitation. The Mngr. emerged from the back, like an indifferent permissive parent, and didn’t put her foot down, to rally her crew into a more productive posture. Instead, she opted to take up the SLACK and failed to delegate. Adjust it, by directing your energies more toward making the customer a priority, and refresh your realization that the reason(s) your employed there is because of us, THE CUSTOMER(S), NOT YOUR SOCIAL STATUS among your peers. It’s a business, NOT A CAMPUS.
