I am usually a steak and potatoes guy, but this has become one of my favorite places. Mainly because of family members who appreciate good Thai food and keep bringing me here. I have finally settled on the chicken fried Thai rice, medium, and have to admit it is really, really good. Lunch is less expensive and comes with a very good spring roll. Give it a shot – you will be glad you did!

This place is fantastic! My son and I are on vacation and we only planned to go out for dinner one night. We’ll after our first time here we both agreed we absolutely had to come back for a second time the next night. I got the massaman which was heavenly! The presentation was very esthetically pleasing, and the flavor was on point. They also brought out or thai teas with the straw wrappers wrapped to look like a rose on the tip of the straw – so cute!!! My son got the tofu soup and spring rolls and devoured them, so I’m gonna take his word that they were great. The staff were extremely warm, friendly and kind. We will have to make this place a part of our trip everything we come to Hilton Head!

Went for lunch with my husband and the food was amazing! Portion size for a lunch special was also great. We were the only ones dining in (it was lunchtime on a weekday) but it was organized and clean inside. Waitress was also very nice and attentive. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic food, truly delicious and authentic. The appetizer sampler had a nice mix, very crispy spring rolls and the chicken satay was excellent.
The chicken pad Thai was a generous portion. Easy to dial in your spice level (light for me, medium for my Dad) without compromising flavor.

We have been dining at Ruan Thai for many years as we would vacation here on Hilton Head several times a year. In June 2022 my family finally moved here permanently and after a busy summer we made the time to get out to the new location on 278 between Palmetto Dunes and Shipyard. Our son use to frequent that location before Ruan Thai moved in, and I can say that we were all pleasantly surprised! It offers a great atmosphere, comfy surroundings, great decor, the acoustics were good, lighting was just about right. The server we had was very nice and attentive. I went with my wife and teenage daughters for my birthday. My wife and i had a nice red wine, the girls had Sprites.
They had a decent variety on the drink menu with moderate prices. We ordered the Spring Rolls and the Satay (Chicken). The apps were very fresh and good and did not last long! Gone before I could snap a photo. I did take a photo of the 3 entree’s we shared. We had the Pa Nang Curry Chicken, Holy Basil Chicken, and the Thai Fried Rice. All three were so flavorful and tasty and nothing was left on the plate. We always love the presentation at Ruan Thai, such decorative plating, it looks like a work of art! Photos tell the story. We can’t wait to go back! Thanks for the flavor!

We eat here at least once a month. They never disappoint. Wonderful appetizers, like chicken satay, puff of gold (crab Rangoon), and the mussels have the most wonderful broth. Several different types of Thai curries with your choice of protein. Some of my favorite entrees are the red curry with beef, the drunken noodles with beef or chicken and the Pad Thai with chicken. You can get your entrees made as spicy or plain as you like. If “very hot” isn’t enough, they’ll bring you a tray with four different spicy additions. A homemade Sriracha, a chili crunch oil, a dried spice and my favorite little Thai chilies in fish sauce. They’re like hot little flavor bombs. You really can’t go wrong here.
