I just ate there for the first time and this truly the best & most authentic BBQ I’ve found anywhere in the area. When I walked in the aroma hit me immediately & told me I was in for a treat. I had the Sliders (pulled pork, pulled chicken & turkey breast so I could taste a variety) and my girlfriend had the Smoked Salmon (she’s a vegetarian) along with sides of Sweet Cheesy Corn, Baked Beans & Green Beans. The food was awesome and priced right & the service was friendly and quick.

Place and the owner are amazing. He’s obviously thought all aspects of his restaurant through before opening — from the yum food (try the burnt ends! and pulled pork, wow!) to the form-meets-function decor, to the try-it bar of a multitude of BBQ sauces. Hard not to like, but the owner goes a step further and really connects with his regulars.

The food was as I expected from this place. I wasn’t expecting true smokehouse flavor or anything, considering they’re not one and they have a drive through. Sorta like a fast food’ish kinda bbq joint. Overall it was as expected. The pulled pork sandwich was a little dry, and although they do have 6(i think) sauces, none of them really hit it home for me but i can appreciate the selection. They forgot my mac and cheese and delivered the other people waiting for mac and cheese at the tables and forgot about me. It happens, no big deal. Noticed that there were some personal issues going on between the staff and manager. It didn’t bother me. All I can say is they were very nice and sincere about trying to make everyone happy in the restaurant. ( a few families and myself) and there were only 3 people working. All I can say is just work on your groove or have another person working to help take the edge off of you guys. Not a bad experience though. Just work on being a team and manage your efficiency a little better. They did seem like they genuinely cared about the minor mess-ups and everything which is definitely a good thing.

The chicken was amazing. The chips are homemade and tasted great. The salmon would have been better if it was fully cooked. Just make sure you tell them to cook it longer. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and tasty. The sauce selection was incredible. Try them out, you’ll be back.

Very good atmosphere and food! I had the brisket wrap with ivory sauce and I was very impressed. The mac & cheese side-dish tasted homemade! The place looks tiny from outside but there was plenty of space for me and my family. Fast service and theres plenty of sauce toppings to choose from.

I thought this place was okay for BBQ. This seems like a fast food chain for bbq. The prices were okay, but i wish they would incorporate combo meals (sandwich + fries). I did like that they had multiple sauces to add to your BBQ. All the flavors were good. They didn’t have too much on their lunch menu though that seemed appealing. I probably wouldn’t come back to this restaurant and go to Ron’s Pork House for really good BBQ in Morris which isn’t too far from Shorewood.

We had high hopes with the great reviews. Unfortunately, all our food was dried out and/or overcooked. We had a half slab, burnt ends, chicken wings and the shredded chicken (for our son). Very dry. There are a ton of fries served with the meal. And I did like the offering of craft beers on hand. We likely won’t be going back. My husband can spend half the money and make a better meal on the grill at home.

Awesome food. Really good atmosphere with a good variety (not just a bare bones BBQ place). Very good value all around. I was pleasantly surprised when I found their spicy sauce was actually spicy and my gf (who hates spicy food) loved her mild sauce. Brisket sandwich was fantastic.

Just love this place. The owner Ron Rupp is about the nicest guy I’ve met in the food industry and really puts in a lot of care and passion with every customer. I’ve personally watched him walk through and give personal samples and provides great service. Not to mention the incredible barbecue. I can eat authentic barbecue ribs and burnt ends but then eat light when I want to with a moist flavorsome smoked turkey and chicken I’ve ever had. The place is really unbeatable. I’d recommend it to anyone! High Five RQ!
