The place was very clean, the staff was extremely kind, and the food was generous. The Triple X root beer was very good. The brisket is delicious with their sauce, but the ribs I could eat dry. Their meat was a little on the Texas dry side, but the flavor and smoke was excellent.

I have been going to Roy’s since the early eighties. Not until my very last visit in Dec have I ever been dissatisfied. Ribs were dry and had the smoke of a house fire not famous bbq that Hutchsonians have heralded for decades. The Hot links were nothing more than hotdogs. An employee walked by wiping tables and asked how it was, but just kept moving without taking the time to hear what I might have said. I left my food on the table and left. Many changes have been made and thats the new ownership prerogative, but its a huge dissapointment. Please put things back to the way it was. There’s no reason to ruin a winner.

5 stars, more like ten stars. Awesome, awesome barbecue. This place is one stop you are going to want to make. Don’t be fooled by your navigation; you’re not lost, it’s just off the beaten path. You had better not be much past eleven o’clock open time to get some turkey breast. Brisket is amazing, sausage is amazing, ribs are amazing, sauce is amazing, not too sweet or hot but perfect!

Food and service was awesome .. I deducted 1 star due to the heavily smoked in building even though you don’t smoke in doors anymore you come out smelling like smoker, I liked how they had their complement sides and teas and water

Awesome, limited hours because people go for lunch only. Stood in line, socialized with strangers, enjoyed the history displayed on the walls, ordered and sat at a big round table with strangers. There are additional tables in the back but I chose to minimize my footprint because I was alone.
