Overall very good experience and food.

It was the highest rated in the area and we decided to give it a go. I have had better fish & chips in London, Ireland and Vermont – but it was damn tasty for place on a rock in the Iberian Peninsula.

Our food came out quick, it was fresh and the fish was crispy and tasty. The chips were okay but they were fresh and hot. The salad for the gluten free option was decent as well. The service was a bit disjointed but it went from mostly empty to completely packed with a wait in under 15 minutes.

Our service was adequate which is pretty remarkable given how slammed they were. I’d give this a try if you’re in the area and wanted something not typical of the region.

This place could be incredible. Unfortunately it’s a little industrial.

Lots to order on the menu. I got the cod and chips. Big portions provided, but nothing seasoned. Maybe it’s on purpose. I found myself having to use lots of salt and opening numerous cheap ketchup and tartar sauce packages – the ones you’d normally expect to find at a hospital.

I’ve had mushy peas several times before, but here… again, if I closed my eyes, it tasted like nothing.

I wanted to communicate this with the staff but they only spoke Spanish… not sure if that’s normal in Gibraltar (I expected UK English).

I happily ate most of my meal but, I don’t think I’d return anytime soon. I also think there’s a huge opportunity to improve the product.

They are raking in on the reputation. The fish was fried well and crispy, otherwise like flavor and the usual condiments. Only came with fish and chips. There was vinegar, salt and pepper on the table, but no tartar sauce or lemon. Once I walked around and saw what the other restaurants were serving, I had FOMO. Not only did it come with better sides and condiments? It was also cheaper.

All I’m saying is walk around and look what the other places are offering before settling for this place.

I understand they’re busy, but the servers would walk by without saying anything. Had to find my own table and work hard to place an order. My food however, came out fast and hot. Just wish it had some flavoring and the expected condiments.

I ordered the cod and chips that were made to order, and while it came out hot and looked great, it had absolutely no flavor. The fish was extremely bland, the batter wasn’t crispy, and the skin was left on, which was surprising. Even adding a lot of salt didn’t help. Service was fine and the location is great, but the food itself was the worst fish and chips I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it. I hate to be this harsh but this is an honest review.

Good selection of fish to choose from.
Fish and chips were of good quality (both cod and haddock) .
Batter was just right and fish cooked to perfection.
Good selection of extras – Mushy Peas, Gravy , Curry (tasty) etc.

Had to wait in a line for about 20-30 mins, but well worth the wait. Fish was fresh and big, batter was crunchy and not too thick. Recommended to get the mushy peas and gravy. Curry sauce is a little watery and lacks flavor. Service was alright due to the large crowd, could be better.

Very good fish and chips in the shopping area. The shop was on the side, beside the road on the back. They did not had any parking on location. But plenty of parking beside. Paid parking and only accepts GBP or Euro notes. No credit cards.

Restaurant do accepts cards.

It is pricy though, but so is everything in Gibraltar.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews but felt compelled to for Roy’s, because it seems to be so recommended and highly rated yet this doesn’t add up. We were recommended the fish and chips at Roy’s by two tour guides, told that it is the best fish and chips in Gibraltar, and this is why we visited the restaurant today.

Between the three of us, we ordered three beers, two portions of cod and chips, a curry sauce and a gravy. We would have also ordered a small portion of fish and chips for my mum, but these are only permitted for children under ten years.

The fish and chips were cooked nicely and seemed of good quality, but very bland and unseasoned, served without a lemon wedge or tartar. Unfortunately, the curry and gravy provided little extra flavour. The gravy was as thin as you might only imagine on school dinners, and the curry tasted sweet and of not much else, though at least it was thick. Thank goodness for the salt and pepper.

The service was pretty quick, but abrupt and without smiles. I don’t have any experience of Gibraltar pricing, but this seems overpriced for what it is.
