I recently visited Royal Taj and had an exceptional dining experience. The Paneer Tikka was perfectly grilled, offering a delightful blend of spices. The Veg Pakoda was crispy and flavorful, showcasing the chef’s expertise. To top it off, the tea was truly amazing, providing a refreshing and aromatic finish to the meal. The overall ambiance and service added to the pleasure, making it a memorable dining outing. Highly recommend!

Sunday lunch buffet, 44$ for 2 and a garlic naan to go. Food was good service was good. Buffet for 20$ per person should have a little more selection. Will return and order off menu next time. Butter chicken, tandori chicken and the naan on the buffet were our choices. I may have missed a dish everything was delicious.

Have been going to this place for years, see frequent management changes as well as food quality. Being a vegetarian, have a few favorite must order items Saag Paneer and Baigan Barta and found them to maintain the taste until this time. Baigan Barta is less creamy but tasty, however, Saag Paneer was not as flavorful or tasty as it used to be, and Naans were like thick store bought pizza crust or frozen pizza base. Literally I had to be creative without wasting food, converted some of them into a pizza as shown in the pics, you can see what I meant by looking at the thickness of the Naan although you can’t eat to determine the taste and feel the spongy thick bread. They offer lunch buffet however, don’t be surprised for not finding your favorite dishes…. pretty ordinary lacking taste or flavor for vegetarians. Hope they take this review from a good old customer seriously and improve quality of food and service.

Best Indian Restaurant in Santa Cruz. High Quality food with great hospitality and wallet friendly restaurant with nice vegetarian options and non-vegetarian options as well. Worth the money you spend at this place you will never be disappointed. Feel like eating at home. Liked the a-la-carte with entree option. Amazing.. Thank you Royal Taj and its crew.
Update
Came again with the team and found it the same. Naan and Biryani didn’t meet the expectations. I won’t recommend Butter Naan & Goat Biryani here. Royal Taj accepted our request and didn’t charge for the Naan.

Food is 7.5/10. It has good seating area and parking. The waiters do they job well but can definitely be trained to western standards.

The place is small. Clean. Food is great. The host is nice.
It was a quiet late lunch. But the host was very polite to accommodate us. And also the food was really well made.

They are open for dine in from tomorrow, so had to takeout today. The Togo packing was not perfect so the food had spilled all over by the time we got to the hotel. The food was delicious we all enjoyed eating it. We had asked them to make it spicy and it was deadly spicy and super yummy! They had forgotten to pack the veg pakoras we had ordered so make sure you check everything before you take out. The food was ready within 15 minutes after we placed an order on phone. We had ordered shahi paneer, veg sabji, garlic nan, onion kulcha and veg biryani.

I’ve had a few things for dinner from here. Chicken Tikka kabob, Tikka masala, Chicken Byriani and the bread.
We ordered for an employee event. Most of my employees had never tried Indian food. Everyone loved it! We choose byriani, butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka kabob and Chicken Tikka masala. Everyone was happy. Will definitely order catering from here again.

Dal tadka is super flavorful, paneer pakora is great! Price is reasonable especially for Santa Cruz. The paneer makhani was a little bland though
