Royal Rib House is my absolute go-to whenever I’m craving authentic soul food that tastes just like home. Every dish is cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and served with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like family. The staff is consistently courteous and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that keeps me coming back time and time again.
No matter how often I visit, they never disappoint—the quality, taste, and service are always top-notch. If you’re looking for a place that delivers true comfort food with heart, I can’t recommend Royal Rib House enough.

If you’re looking for true soul food packed with flavor and heart, this spot delivers on every level. Their signature sauce alone is worth the visit—rich, tangy, and absolutely addictive. I ordered the chopped BBQ sandwich, and it was perfection: tender, well-seasoned meat with the perfect texture, topped with their house-made coleslaw and drenched in that incredible sauce. Every bite hit the spot.
To round out the meal, I added collard greens and baked mac and cheese—both cooked just right and full of comforting, homemade flavor. I also grabbed two slabs of ribs to share with the family, and let’s just say they didn’t last long.
And whatever you do, don’t leave without the peach cobbler. The buttery crust and tender apples were the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing meal.
Delicious food, generous portions, and that unforgettable signature sauce—this place is an absolute must-try.

I was so excited to try the food after how amazing the place smelt. I was picking up a delivery for uber and told my boyfriend that we should try the food here. I ordered the bbq rib meal with collard greens and yams and my boyfriend ordered the fried chicken with Mac n yams. We also ordered a side of Mac for me. When we arrived home and opened the plates, I realized the collard greens were missing. The bbq ribs did not taste good at all. The smell of the sauce was indescribable. A very weird smell that I’ve never smelt in my life. The Mac and cheese was horrible as well. I did not smell or taste cheese. The yams were tasteless. I’m truly disappointed. Will never go back and would not recommend.

Nothing like the original Royal Rib, which was excellent southern soul food! I had mac n cheese (okay), potato salad (mushy and very sweet), collard greens (no smoked meat, but smoke flavor – slight aftertaste), short ribs (very sweet and seasoned like jerk without spice, coated in spice powder), cornbread (perfect). Would not recommend these dishes. My mom enjoyed the chicken but not the bbq sauce (too sweet). The staff was very nice!

Royal Ribs catered the food for my birthday party and the food was so delicious. My guests loved it. My menu was rotisserie chicken, fried fish, potato salad, stringbeans and blueberry cornbread. All my guests said who made the food. Thank you Jay and team for making my party a huge success.

feels like an institution and for good reason- the food here is pretty much home cooking on a scale that could make any new yorker happy to have their own local bbq joint. the meat was perfectly tender without falling completely apart, and the sides are just as tasty. the vinegar profile is what sets it apart from any bbq i’ve had prior. service is a little slow maybe but would you want food made with love to be treated otherwise? absolutely can’t wait to return and try everything else!! the blueberry cornbread was just a cherry on top!

My favorite spot for soul food! I always make sure to come through when I’m in nyc! Their ribs, Mac n cheese, collards, and candied yams are my fav. Also their cornbread is the best I’ve ever had! I’m also in love with their peach cobbler so make sure it’s all in your bag before you leave! Their hospitality is like no other. I love staying to eat the food there and chat with jay. Him and his team are the sweetest. They’re a family owned restaurant that stems multi generations and the authentic recipes shows.
A bed stuy classic!!! Iykyk

I was really excited to visit this place as it was noted that the owners are from the same family who owned the original Royal Rib House at Halsey St. And Throop Ave. The original Royal Rib was the first place I had BBQ Rib in 1977 and was my go-to spot in the late 70’s and 80’s.
Walked in during the afternoon, there were 3 people a head of me. Young lady taking orders was polite and friendly. Order a large bbq ribs, large side of potatoe salad, and large side of candid yams. Waited 40 minutes to receive my order. The bbq sauce, although it was good, was not quite the same as the original. The ribs were acceptable but were not very tender. The sides were slightly above average but enjoyable. My wife thought the potatoe salad was a little sweet. The price point was a bit high but not unreasonable. Overall, I would visit here again (order ahead) for pickup.

If you’re searching for ribs in Brooklyn that are worth crossing the borough for, look no further. These ribs are nothing short of spectacular.
The meat is exactly how ribs should be: fall-off-the-bone tender, incredibly juicy, and infused with deep, smoky flavor.
The sides deserve their own praise.
If you love BBQ—or even if you think you don’t—these ribs will convert you. A must-visit spot, and easily home to the best ribs Brooklyn has to offer!!!!

Good food. Staff is polite but and this is a big but, they are ALWAYS overwhelmed.
From start of the order to finished plate in your hand, there’s delays. They need a pro to come in and consult on making things run more efficiently. Back of house and front. The order food items are cooked in, how food is brought from the back, prepping the plates for take out, taking orders etc. They are always way behind. Expect to place an order and wait half an hour minimum.
Maybe they also need two more staff people? Staff is always polite and apologetic.
