Reviews
We will be returning to this restaurant. It is less crowded, and the food was full of flavor.
We definitely got more bang for our buck!
Went in and it had good potential, smelled good even from outside, the inside was clean and while it was small it seemed taken care of.
When I went to give my orders I was informed the combo was only for the $1.50 scoop stuff and not for other items which was disappointing but I moved on.
I happened to slip outside which doesn’t effect my review on taste but when they remade my food as I’d landed partially on it. (They came outside, helped me up and offered to remake it I didn’t force them or anything. It was rainy and slippery)
When I got home my roomates and I saw that they had gotten a couple of the re-orders wrong. One box we couldn’t even tell if it was potato chicken or beef because there was a pile of onions on it.
We played rock paper scissors and decided who got the mystery foods since our orders were mongolian beef, two different kinds of chicken, and lo mein.
Other roomate got their sweet and sour chicken and had to settle for beef and broccoli since chicken and broccoli wasn’t in the select menu.
The lo mein was pretty plain, a little oily, lacked alot of veggies, and to me tasted closer to buttered noodles.
My Mongolian beef was pretty bland, had some bitter flavors that didn’t really contribute to things in a complementary way and the serving was mostly jalapenos.
The two mystery foods might have been potato chicken and spicy chicken but there was potato in neither dish that could be seen or tasted.
One was a chicken with a batter and fry similar to other stuff like general tso but it was again pretty bland with a mild sweetness. I couldn’t place what the flavor was supposed to be.
The other was slices of meat that we couldn’t quite tell if they were pork or chicken. I bet pork my roommate bets chicken. But the flavor wasn’t identifiable and apparently the textures were “Kinda chewy and whatever” The sauce “Slid off the meat and didn’t do much for it.” and “The majority was raw vegetables.”
Other roommate got beef and broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. They wanted the chicken broccoli but it wasn’t swappable so they still got broccoli. They also got fried rice.
The fried rice was soft and seemed to only be stained colored and not fried in with the usual sesame and soy flavors. They said there was no crispiness present at all and they found a frozen or very cold pea mixed in. Their review was “I think they waved it by the wok.”
The Sweet and Sour chicken with sauce was pretty plain and roommate stopped their meal here because they said they found hairs. I wasn’t in that room so I couldn’t verify.
The Beef and Broccoli wasn’t eaten for the above reason.
The cheese wontons that came with the combo were small, maybe a small spoonful of cream cheese inside with no onion or anything, the wrapper was also pretty pale.
Overall it was a pretty whatever experience. I probably won’t be going again but it wasn’t the worst food I’ve had. Everything was clean and like I said the people working were very nice.
