1. Manager very haughtily refused a table at lunch hour, saying that ‘we have to reserve seats for a party of 30 people’. I could see empty tables . Of course after 1.5 hours, the said party was nowhere to be seen.
2. Wayyyy too long a wait for food.
3. Found a feather in the beverage glass. A BIRD feather. Yep.
4. Now all of the above would’ve held lesser weightage had the food been outstanding. We’ve had food at good and bad places both, as we love oriental cuisine. But the quality did not justify the price point at all!
The peppercorn chicken tastes roadside. Same for veg dimsums.
They can’t just fool their customers under the garb of a global chain. Was hoping to be a regular here. Unfortunately, won’t be visiting again.
All the dimsums were delicious, especially the dimsums made of shrimp were very delicious.
The restaurant is also well decorated with a sense of elegance.
However, it was difficult to order quickly, perhaps because the employees were busy, and it takes time for additional dimsums to come out.
I think I will visit again when I think of Dimsam.
If that sounds like your kind of date, Royal China is where you need to be.
From juicy prawn & black pepper dumplings to melt-in-your-mouth chicken wontons in spicy sauce, every bite here makes you feel like royalty.
The autumn cocktails — Solar Flare & Tropic Spritz — are flavour symphonies in a glass.
And the showstoppers? Chicken Shanghai soup dumplings, crispy prawn cheung fun, duck spring rolls, and those pillowy Char Sui pork baos. Pure bliss.
We ended on the sweetest note — a dreamy tiramisu & the indulgent Pull Me Up Chocolate Cake, with all the drama and decadence you could ask for.
Dimsum & dessert dates don’t get more regal than this.
