We ordered two orders of garlic naan and it was so burnt and inedible. They also gave the wrong drink in the bag. The curry was bland. I wouldn’t go again.

Worst experience ever. The lady serving food was eating in the dine-in area and loudly asked us for our order while chewing. Very unprofessional. We ordered cholle bhature—bhature were black and dough felt spoiled, cholle tasted stale. Couldn’t even finish one bhatura. Paid $31 for stale food. Total waste of money. Never coming back.

OK … this food is next level. The naan is soft and delicious. And the biryani was amazing with soft very chewable goat meat. And the butter chicken was very flavourful and not cloying as some can be. And the nice touch was the plates were served hot – literally so when your steaming fare came to the table you served yourself onto your own already heated dinner plate. I loved that! You gotta go. The best in the Cowichan Valley hands down.

We were visiting Duncan for the first time, this was one of the places that was still open, everything was mostly closed. The food was outstanding, it was delicious. The food portion was perfect for sharing. We got the garlic naans and tandoori rotis with bhindi and Shani paneer. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re really feeling Indian food, or wanting comfort food. The service was so polite and welcoming, the wait didn’t take long. The food was fresh and hot.

We ordered for take out. This was my first time there. Totally acceptable time frame for our order to be ready. No disappointments with the quantity, quality and the taste. Very happy to find another great place with delicious food in the Duncan area.

Absolutely amazing experience!
I recently dined at royal bistro , and it was hands down one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had. The flavors were authentic, rich, and beautifully balanced. every dish was perfectly cooked and full of aroma, amazing staff super friendly, also the only restaurant in town that offer complimentary naan or rice with any curry dish.

This is by far the best East Indian restaurant we have found in the Duncan area. The food is excellent. Staff are friendly. Not a long wait for food. Prices are very reasonable. If you’re familiar with Clay Oven (restaurant found in other cities) this is the closest to that taste wise.

What a wonderful experience! I went there for my 60th birthday with 8 friends. The food was so good! I Love Indian food and have gone to all the restaurants! This NEW place is fabulous! The owners were very accommodating as they allowed us to stay longer to play a game and eat cake. The garlic naan is so fluffy and ALL the food was great and good portions!

The food is so amazing! Pinky (the owner) is so very friendly and brings a smile to your table every time! Lunch specials daily until 2pm are affordable and large portions.

“The fritters appear overcooked—almost burnt. The blackened exterior suggests they were fried at too high a temperature or for too long, which can affect both taste and texture.”
