This place is a must if you’re in the area. Atmosphere, service, and food were great! We had the pimento cheese, Cajun shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries, and shrimp poboy with regular fries. Everything looked and tasted great. There is plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. We didn’t have any wait for lunch on a Thursday but if there had been a wait, they have a covered space with outside yard games. I also loved their small garden area, you can definitely tell they use fresh ingredients.

We started with wine. The server was unable to help or guide our selection, but we were happy with our choice. Nice wine list with good prices for a bottle. The fried green tomatoes were good and crispy. The fried flounder and sweet potato fries were good, though the fries were a bit limp and sweet to taste. The side salad was a nice size, though for an upcharge. The fish tacos were good with a nice portion of Flounder. Unfortunately, the grits were SALTY and inedible. Grits can be challenging. A Chef should taste them during the cooking process. A customer can remedy bland grits, but one can’t salvage grits with excess salt! Overall, it was a nice meal.

Open, spacious restaurant with delicious, well-prepared Southern dishes. Nice cocktail menu. The atmosphere is friendly and neighborly. The fried green tomato tacos were spot on! The crispy Brussels Sprouts were a nice table appetizer.

Beautiful spot for outdoor (or indoor) dining. We enjoyed live music outdoors under the lights on thr patio.
The sides were aamazing. Grits and mac and cheese were the favorites!
Fried green tomatoes were delicious, too!
The group enjoyed fried flounder, creole shrimp, and the Cajun seasoned giant shrimps.

The food was incredible, especially the seafood! The service was great all the way from being greeted at the door and seated through the ordering and service of food.

Pro tip #1 – The entrees contain a lot of food. Trust me, you won’t walk away hungry. So consider not filling up on too many appetizers.

Pro tip #2 – If you like dessert, I would suggest planning in advance and watch what you order for apps and entrees. If you don’t, there may not be enough room for dessert. Although you can order dessert to go!

My wife and I had a really nice time at Roxbury Mercantile. Took the corvette out for a Saturday drive and we passed it on the way to Edisto. We thought we’d stop for a late lunch on the way back and we’re glad we did. Great place to have a lazy lunch out on the patio. The food was good and the service was great and all at a good price. I had the shrimp creole, my wife had the shrimp sandwich, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had to try the lemonade blueberry cake. Delicious. Our server was personable and efficient. We definitely have it on the list to go back.

Our first time eating here. Shrimp and oysters were breaded and cooked perfectly. The boil shrimp we had was cooked to perfection that is – not over done in my low country boil. The she crab soup was out of this world – tasty. We ate already making plans to return. Highly recommend this place.

They have fantastic food and desserts. We always get the pulled pork BBQ with red peas and flash fried Brussels sprouts. You will not be disappointed. It’s enough food to share.

We have dined at Roxbury multiple times when in the area. We have never been disappointed. This trip we started with the crab dip and pimento cheese. The crab dip is great and the pimento cheese was good. My 13 yo got a Caesar salad and mac & cheese. She said the Caesar was the best she’s ever had. My wife and I shared the seafood platter with flounder and oysters They were fried lightly and not heavy at all. The real stars of the show for me are the sides. We got the sea island red peas and butter beans. I highly recommend trying them both. Also do yourself a favor and read up on the history of the sea island red peas…….also the history of the restaurant is interesting as well. You can read all about it on the menu.
