Walked into this place as it was closing and all the lights were already turned off. The owner was so accommodating – he let us use the restroom and turned the lights and music back on while we made some purchases. Very cool, laid back atmosphere, with good music and lots of food choices. We bought snacks and didn’t get to try any of the sandwiches or coffee, but will definitely come back when in the area again. Place was very clean and organized.

When I discovered Roxbury Market in the eighties, it soon became one of my favorite destinations. I lived in Bethel, but I’d drive up to Roxbury several times a week for sandwiches. It was remodeled sometime in the nineties, and the small back room had tables to enjoy meals with friends. We’d meet there by Jeep, motorcycle, or whatever and sit for an hour sharing a great sandwich, coffee and soft drinks. I moved to Florida in 2004 and miss the Marketplace. But we manage to visit at least once a year when we come back to Roxbury in autumn.

I usually wouldn’t bother to write a review about a sandwich I was the dissatisfied with but this was exceptionally bad.. I ordered a chicken cutlet on a hard roll with lettuce tomato and mayo with American cheese.
I won’t go into any other detail but to say the chicken cutlet had nothing to be desired.. the texture was like shoe leather, which is nearly impossible to achieve when cooking a chicken cutlet.
It was exceptionally oily with little flavor as well.
I really felt like I was served a chicken cutlet that had been sitting around for a while and there was an attempt to reconstitute it by dipping it into hot oil again.
I had driven by this place many times and finally had an opportunity to stop by and try it.. I don’t think I’ll be by again.
It it did have a nice atmosphere and the coffee was good.. as far as the sandwich goes, the hard roll was the only highlight.

Apparently mud is an issue here. Anyway, it’s clean inside, coffee was good and very inexpensive compared to on the shore. It’s the only game in town and it’s convenient. Service is friendly. Architecture fits the historic character of the village, which is a big plus. Altogether a nice place to stop for gas, etc.

Great little Deli and Market. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best! Great lunch specials and selection there as well. The market itself has quite the selection of dry goods, local dairy and artisan products, even local meats it the freezer. They even have these local eggs you can not seem to find any where else, Toplands Farm eggs, to die for!!! All in all great little place to shop and experience a taste of Roxbury CT, you can get a sandwich and some local goods.

Everyone I’ll not recommend you guys to go to this place because the owners has a big problem with mud he would chase you everywhere with the broom and give you a bad attitude because you enter he’s store with dirty shoes, make sure take your shoes off before entering the store, but for my self I’ll never give my money to this store and to the owner.
Who on earth don’t have dirt in their shoes..!!!

Roxbury Market their staff and products are awesome. Kitchen makes delicious breakfast and lunch items. The bakery items are exceptional. Many local artisan jams, jelly, syrups and sauces. The owner runs the cash register, a cordial gentlemen. I make a point of going in that direction, to stop in.

Stopped here on the way home from a short hike. It had a delicious looking selection of baked goods, some great sandwiches, and something over 40 flavors of ice cream. It also had a bunch of local and regional products for sale. If you find yourself in the area, I strongly recommend stopping in and giving them your business!

While social distancing we picked up the best bacon egg & cheese on a roll. The roll was crusty outside & soft inside, the eggs cooked to perfection, bacon crispy & cheese nice & gooey. Couldn’t ask for more comfort during these uncertain times.
