If I wrote this review based on my most recent visit alone, I’d give it 0 stars but I won’t do that. I usually go for the oyster happy hour which is always great (I love their hot sauces) but I’ve tried the chicken salad sandwich, the burger (pictured) and the gumbo (with shrimp is a few dollars more, also pictured), not amazing but not bad.
I’ve only ever sat in the small outdoor area because the weather has been nice but I went yesterday when it was cold. I walked in and waited by the door for the hostess. I usually sit at the bar when dining alone but it was about 90% full and I didn’t really want to squeeze between others. After a few minutes, the hostess finally appears from a table where a group of the employees were sitting. She looks around at a few open tables for some time. At this point I’m assuming she thinks the tables are too large for a single diner so I tell her I’ll just squeeze in at the bar.
I’m finally seated. The bartender is helping other guests so I wait patiently for a menu. She tends to another couple and does other stuff for about 5 mins and then goes to sit back down at the table with the employees. I’m not easy to miss in environments where I’m the only black person so it felt intentional. I wave at her and catch her attention and she just stares at me confused. I get up and just walk to the restaurant next door where I was helped immediately.

Really enjoyed their salmon entree and the dip appetizer (not pictured). Food was good. Had a very tavern like atmosphere. Although it was a small restaurant they were able to seat our group of six comfortably. Also despite the power outages from the weather, they were able to get our food out fast.

This restaurant is cute, great ambiance, and service at the bar was great. We were here during Alive in Roswell, so they were busy. We ordered a drink and the fried grouper. The fish was delicious, I just wish we got a little more for $15. We’re planning on coming back for their oyster happy hour.

Shoutout to the staff at Roux for being super accommodating for our large party (8). They didn’t need to accommodate us, but made it happen anyway. The food is amazing! 100% recommend especially if you are in part of 2-4 people!

We had an amazing experience at Roux on Canton! We tried the Beef Roast and the Cajun Chicken Nachos — both were incredible. The flavors were bold, comforting, and perfectly prepared. The nachos especially had the perfect kick and great flavor!
What made the meal even better was how much the kids enjoyed their food too — always a huge win for us! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Roux on Canton for anyone looking for great food and a great time!

Food was pretty good, we went for $1 oysters on Sunday. Parking is such a hassle on this street though, but that isn’t the restaurant’s fault. Wish the waiter would have been more attentive to us, especially at the beginning of our visit– that’s the only thing I would advise. Other than that the service was pleasant despite it being hard to track the waiter down.

We grabbed a quick lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is very small but it wasn’t crowded so we were able to get seated. We had the fried green tomatoes, and mixed Okra appetizer. We ordered the wings, steak and shrimp, and gumbo. All of the food was tasty, and I would recommend.

Roux has such a down-to-earth vibe that resonates in the wonderfully prompt service, great-tasting food, and perfectly situated location in the middle of Canton St.
Coming here with big appetites after a long summer day, we left feeling satisfied by the portion sizes and quality of the food. The curly fries were absolutely spectacular and were my favorite part of the meal. The Sweet Potato Tacos were also great and were even further enhanced by the perfectly spicy green salsa / crema they provided.
Would totally recommend coming to this restaurant when visiting Roswell’s Food & Dining District; the fare here easily matches the high calibre of the local area’s rustic-yet-refined aesthetic!
