Took a trip up north to The Legendary Red Rooster in Ceresco. the service and wait staff were awesome. The atmosphere is rustic and charming. The food was on point and I highly recommend. I had the rib eye and Brandi had the chicken fried chicken. The batter was perfectly crispy and the flavor! Five stars!

I’m just going to say for there price on food and as many people who work here definitely just okay. Not once was or water filled I got a prime rib melt with mashed potatoes and coleslaw added onions to my sandwich and had maybe 2 or 3 sliver could not tell at all the mashed potatoes well lets just say it’s restaurant you should have real mashed potatoes not instant box mashed potatoes u could have atlest covered the melt with the cheese instead u get one cheap America cheese that only fits like maybe 40% of the sandwich the prime rib was completely dry very bland and for almost 16 bucks not worth it at all, my wife got the haystack which comes on a sacer plate so very small portion the hashbrowns was incredibly small the brown gravy lack taste my wife wasn’t impressed by any means . Or service was mediocre she talked to us a little bit but u can definitely tell if your not from there small town your not getting the same service. For side of mushrooms and tiny portion of onions side of coleslaw was 10 bucks WAY over priced. Im not going to say it was horrible but definitely overpriced and lack of taste . We got to pretty much as many small town joints all over the us and this was definitely the worst. This was 43 bucks

This was our first time at the Red Rooseter. The good was really good. Our waiter Grant was very nice and had a great personality. He helped me pick between 2 meals. My table had Chicken Fried Chicken, Bacon Melt, Grilled Shrimp, Fried Shrimp, and Wings.
The owner was also very nice and told my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law the history if the restaurant since we were curious.
We will definitely be back.

Outstanding ! a wide menu with down home comfort dishes perfectly prepared – vast selection of wines, liquor, & beers with a cozy bar area – I had to have the hot beef sandwich with REAL roast beef – REAL mashed potatoes & rich beef gravy – partner had the pork tenderloin “fritter” = as big & thick as the plate, massive meat potions & famous fried chicken..don’t skip the SALAD BAR – wowser!…”Oh, that’s what a perfect salad bar looks like”. then after dinner, give into temptation for a slice from a dozen fresh pies! BIG THANKS to Ron & the attentive staff for making THE ROOSTER a dining destination in Ceresco!…PS ..name change suggestion, “the legendary 5 star red rooster” !

Feels like home. Easy going atmosphere. I see big screens…Husker Saturdays? Big party room and a big rooster. Special cocktails, beer and wine list. Don’t forget dessert!

Great service, great food, atmosphere is fantastic as well. Pictured is the Thai Chili wings, Chicken Fried Steak and Onion Rings. All made from scratch and delicious. We have previously had the Ribeye, Prime Rib, Haystack Burger and Chicken Stips. All are exceptional. There is also a good selection of beer and wine. Being a new place there is a little wait on on food due to staffing issues. Do not let this deter you from dining here.

Charging people 3 extra dollars for sharing food is just dumb and greedy. Charging an elderly couple 3 extra dollars just for sharing food is absolutely shameful.
Edit-Response to owner reply: I am familiar with the food industry and why someone would choose to be this greedy. I offer some constructive encourgement that if a few extra bites of food from a split entree every so often sinks your business, then you might be in the wrong industry. I am also aware that it would not be hard to put some good oldfashioned thought power into finding a less greedy and scumy way to approach protecting the business pocket book. Especially when people who share plates are doing so because of an already strained budget (and they still chose to spend that money at your establishment.)
On top of the fact that in the situation that resulted in this review, your staff was not asked to split the dish. All that was said is “we are going to share the plate.” No one said anyting or asked anyone about splitting the dish onto to separate plates, or implied thats what was desire in any way. It was assumed and the charge was applied by surprise.
I appreciate your invitation. However, I will not be returning to an establishment with such horrid bussiness practices. Also I have no motivation to return outside of that as the food has been severely downgraded from what the previous owner had, with higher prices.
All that being said I find this situation and your audacity to defend such deciectful behavior of your staff with the poor treatment of vulnerable elderly people sharing their food incredibly dissapointing. Which is sad because I know you own the Branding Iron Cafe in Wahoo as well. My wife and I have been there several times and have had nothing but good experiances. But we wont be returning there either to support you after this.

I have been here a few times, and have had great experiences ! I had to come back for the fried chicken, it really is delicious! The chicken is tender and great flavor. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. Definitely stop by and support local , you won’t regret it !

Update on my previous 5 star review. The food was still delicious, however, we came in right when it opened at 5pm (no crowd) with a party of 7, another party of 7 got thier food and were finished eating and we’re leaving before our food was served, it took over 50 minutes from placing the order to getting our food. While the owner/manager apologized, there was no compensation for the slow delivery of food.
