We had one of their fall specialty drinks, the peach cobbler smash, and it was fantastic. The most impressive dish in my opinion was the butternut squash ravioli; it was truly remarkable. Please, don’t ever remove this dish from the menu! We also tried the bacon-wrapped veal meatloaf, which was good as well. The whitefish dip wasn’t our favorite (it was served warm, and we prefer chilled—just our preference).
Our server, Kamesha, was outstanding as well. A big shoutout to the Round Island team for a job well done; we’ll definitely be returning regularly from now on!
Enjoyed a relaxing outdoor luncheon. The food and service was excellent. The entrees were delicious and so well prepared. We had the seared salmon, house burger, lamb gyros, and herb crusted Lake Superior white fish.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Do check this place out if you are visiting Mackinac island.
While the food was fantastic, my interaction with the waiter was a bit awkward. He seemed to take offense at something I said, replying with, “I was just asking!” There was some tension between us throughout the meal, but I believe it was a simple communication issue, as English didn’t seem to be his first language (his nametag mentioned he was from Croatia). Despite that, he did his best to provide good service, though I had some difficulty understanding him, which added to the confusion.
The menu offers a variety of fish options, which I loved since I’m a big fan of seafood. However, I would love to see a classic fried fish and chips option. While the sautéed yellow perch and broiled whitefish sound great, I was really in the mood for some fried fish, and it wasn’t on the menu. I think adding fried perch with those amazing fries and a side of coleslaw would be a fantastic addition! People really enjoy a classic golden brown fried fish, and I hope the menu might include something like that in the future.
4/5 stars. Would eat here again and likely will when I return to the Island next year.
