We were excited to try to the food after looking at the menu online. However upon arriving we found out that they had recently changed their menu and some of the stuff we wanted to order was no longer part of their menu. We ordered a white queso as an appetizer. The chicken fried steak was over cooked, and so was the steak in the pasta. Some of the fries tasted a bit burnt. The pasta overall had good flavor. The house salads tasted good and fresh. The Also when we got our bill I noticed that they had added 25% tip. Which Im not sure if they do this for everyone or just groups of 6+.

We always enjoy eating here. Locally owned and operated. The owner works alongside her staff. It’s right downtown, perfect location to stop and eat and then walk around and shop downtown.There’s free parking a street over with barely a walk to the restaurant. The amphitheater is across the street, so you can walk across and dance, listen to music, or just hang out. If you’re into wine, you can step across the street and enjoy a tasting. The waitstaff are friendly and efficient, and the steaks are If you’re in town, definitely give this place a try.

We’ve been so excited to eat at the Rouge Local! It’s a beautiful venue and the staff was warm and inviting. Landry was our waitress and she was working her tail off! She was amazing! We order the jalapeños for our appetizer and the steak protein bowls with a sweet potato for our entrees. Our food was delicious and very filling. Hester’s Theatre of Magic will definitely be back!

Asparagus was overcooked
Smashed potatoes were just mashed potatoes with skins. But good flavor
Shrimp tasted good.
Rice pilaf was totally tasteless.
Roasted veggies are not roasted.
Nice staff. Decent location.
But simply over priced food for so many misses.

Nope. Ordered steak extremely chewy. Baked potatoes are not done. Tendons left in my chicken. The tomatoes on the brushetta were nasty and mushy and tasted like soap. We didn’t get our appetizer until we we already had our main meals. Our drinks were flat. I will not be giving them my money again.

I had their special, a 10oz ribeye with shrimp, potatoes and asparagus. The steak was well seasoned and perfectly cooked medium rare. Neither the grilled shrimp or asparagus were overcooked.
My girlfriend had the chicken fried chicken, which came out as two large filets over mashed potatoes with a delicious homemade cream gravy. I was jealous.
They didn’t seem to serve alcohol, but if you are after a good meal, then don’t let it stop you.

The food was WONDERFUL! Large portions as well, as you can see in the pictures! Prices are good too! Very friendly waitstaff and the atmosphere was great!! Would definitely recommend!

We were in town for the weekend and decided to stop here for an early dinner. The restaurant was so cute, and we were immediately greeted. We had rolls and drinks at our table within three minutes, and the girl that was working the floor was NOT playing about her tables. The service was top tier, our food was delicious and we will be thinking about this meal for a minute!
