I really enjoyed the food here! It was all delicious. The gumbo, their deluxe sandwich and an espresso cost just over $50 before tip, which feels pretty steep.

It took us about 10 minutes to get to order our food, and another 40 minutes for it to come out. Once it came out, the food was noticeably fresh and warm, which made it worth the wait for me! I loved the Mochanut Crunch Espresso as well. I got a side salad instead of chips with my sandwich, and it was very memorable. I appreciate when dining facilities make an effort to do more for a side salad than lettuce. I was pleased that there was an assortment of vegetables upon a bed of spinach.

Overall I will be returning for a relaxing weekend lunch, when I’m not in a rush to go somewhere afterwards.

After some time off between PT sessions due to timing conflicts, I was finally back for an early morning session. My shoulder and arm are still pretty locked up so new exercises were created so I can get more range of motion so I can do little things like scratch the back of my neck or shampoo the top of my head.

We were on our way to another place that supposedly had lots of parking but found none. Another search and Rosewood popped up so off we went.

This restaurant used to be a neighborhood grocery store. The restaurant owners kept many fixtures, like the door to the meat cooler, the original cash register, and one set of floor to ceiling glass folding doors.

We were seated immediately, handed menus and a covered carafe of cold water. The drinking glasses are Ball canning jars.

I thought it was odd that we weren’t offered coffee, so when our server came to take our order I asked about coffee. Ray and I ended up ordering mocha espressos, which were quite good.

The breakfast menu was very unique, right down to a breakfast salad which I have never seen before. Ray and I each ordered the Sunrise Skillet. Ray had his with sausage. I chose bacon. Both of us chose to have scrambled eggs. Toast is not included, nor offered, so I requested it. Ray asked for wheat toast which they do not serve. We each ordered sourdough. I am glad we each ordered toast because the side was one piece. When served, we had to request jam.

Our breakfasts arrived, hot and made to order. The flavors were incredible and complemented one another. While green hot sauce was on the table, (my preferred), there was no need for condiments!!
Our servings were large enough for us to each take about half home.

The next table arrived for lunch. Listening to them discuss some of the menu items intrigued me enough to want to go back.

This is a very cute, quaint little neighborhood restaurant in a beautiful area, of the original part of north Tacoma. There is decent parking and outdoor dining in nicer weather.

It’s always a good day to visit the Rosewood Cafe!

The service was prompt, professional, and kind the owner, Amanda, is an absolute delight. Sweet and bubbly, she took my dietary needs into account with her recommendations and I was NOT disappointed! I ordered a hot Chai latte, a tuna melt, and coleslaw. The veggies were perfectly crisp and seasoned, the chai was mellow, warm and spicy. The tuna melt BLEW. MY. MIND.

Beautifully grilled, warm, salty, and fresh. The cheese was exactly as melty as I wanted it to be and the capers in the tuna were a genius addition.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough! Definitely one to revisit

Absolutely loved our experience at Rosewood Cafe! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Caleb. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our meal perfect. Caleb’s recommendations were spot-on, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend Rosewood Cafe, especially if you get Caleb as your server! Five stars all the way!

I wanted to love this place. It’s so cozy and the neighborhood vibes are fantastic for people watching and casual lunch. We sat outside to enjoy the nice day
Service was chaotic and disorganized … staff didn’t know their own menu, was confused as to who was serving our table at all, didn’t seem to understand timing and generally were not around.

Ordered an Italian sub and a salad to split, they offered to split it for us which was nice. Food arrived looking lackluster at best. An Italian with with veggies too big to fit in your mouth, no oil and vinegar (which we asked extra of) and a giant stem of pepper, it was tiny, badly cut and not at all an Italian sub. We asked before we ordered if the coleslaw was vinegar or mayo based and was told vinegar. It was mayo… a heavy handed dose of mayo.
We asked extra sides and had to wait a very long time for them and the oil and vinegar she brought out the salad dressing not sub style. Confusing?

Had to asked for the bill at the counter and then my friend ended up getting up herself to get it anyway.
It’s a bummer, super disappointing for a local place.

Took a friend to lunch at the Rosewood Cafe, first time for both of us. As I ordered the Rosewood deluxe sandwich I inquired if the bacon was crisp and to make a note of my preference. My only gripe about the Rosewood Deluxe was limp and non-tasty bacon, I was a bit disappointed. The creamy coleslaw however was tasty and friend ordered the Greek Caesar salad with chicken. They liked the salad but realized too late that romaine would have been a better choice of greens as opposed to the “spring mix”. Next time I will try the Savory Chicken pie. Oh and lastly, sorry to say but the Rosewood Cowboy Cookie tasted like baking powder and white sugar, I had two bites at home and threw it in the compost.

We recently hosted a private event at the Rosewood Café, and every aspect was exceptional. The food was delicious, the staff created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the service was attentive throughout the evening.

Amanda was instrumental in bringing our vision to life. She worked meticulously to ensure our party was perfectly tailored to our theme. She accommodated every request we had, handling details like seating arrangements, menu selection, and bringing a custom hot cocoa bar to life. The seasonal decorations at the café provided the exact cozy bistro ambiance we were looking for.

For anyone planning a special event who wants to collaborate with a professional who genuinely cares about your ideas and needs, you must contact Amanda. She truly works magic, and you will not be disappointed!

Not sure what the point of a sign that says “please wait to be seated,” when after they made us wait while they finished their conversation they said “have a seat anywhere.” There were 3 tables filled with one leaving as we sat, another left within a couple minutes, and we were the only table. People would come in and Kami would holler across the room where it’s already echoing and noise. We waited an additional 10” waiting for our menus…and did t get our food for a full 35” after we sat. I realize costs are increasing everywhere, but this salad was $15. Really disappointed as I’ve been here before and enjoyed my food and service. This time, Kami, the server, was too busy visiting with another employee who was counting money than to take our order when we were the o my I es in the restaurant.
