If you are expecting the level of a Katz’s Deli, then you will be disappointed. However, this is nevertheless a very solid Jewish style deli. I ordered takeout, and started with the Matzoh Ball Soup. The broth was tasty, not too salty, and had plenty of carrots. I would have liked fewer onions, but otherwise the broth was fine. The matzoh ball had a nice fluffy texture, but the taste was a bit bland. The matzoh ball could definitely use a little more seasoning. I also had a Pastrami on Rye. I liked that they offered 3 different sandwich sizes. I chose the middle which was plenty for me. The pastrami was thinly sliced, tender, but did not have the rich flavor profile of a higher end deli. This place is not bad, as long as you temper expectations.

Any port in a storm, Rosenfeld’s was a refuge for us while on vacation after a recent loss and it was exactly what we needed to reconnect to our Jewish identity.

Offering a traditional Jewish menu they checks all the right boxes, barrel of pickles, plentiful dishes with lox, babka French toast, everything bagels galore and one of the most interesting takes on latkas I’ve ever had they seem to have it all.

Prepared to near perfection (sadly they burned my side of bacon to a crisp) the food is tasteful but not overbearing and plentiful. Served by super friendly though folks in a unique atmosphere with some of the most creative must see murals it was an enjoyable experience.

Service was a little slow but that spoke more to a lack of staffing on a Friday morning and nothing against the effort of the staff. They was super friendly and made us feel like part of the family.

If you are looking for that comfortable and familiar feel of a Jewish deli you couldn’t ask for a better experience. This is a hidden gem in a shore town we never thought we’d be fortunate enough to find.

Hubby and I first went to Rosenfeld’s in Ocean City many years ago & loved it! We were excited when they opened a location in Lewes, but this location never really measured up in service compared to the other location & over the last year has gotten increasingly worse. My husband is Jewish and very used to the classic Jewish delis in Phili, etc. After several times of getting the wrong food, he stopped going a couple of years ago. I was over helping out a friend and looking for a yummy dinner. I thought a good pastrami sandwich would fit the bill and what girl (my friend) couldn’t use good dose of Matzah Ball Soup and a Reuben while recovering from open heart surgery!! She said her sandwich and the soup were good, but I did notice her soup had very little chicken & veggies. It was late & maybe we got the dregs Idk…. ‍ I do know that when I make it, you’re going to get more than two slices of carrot and more than the meat of half of a small chicken leg in a quart of soup!
On to my Pastrami sandwich… I totally understand why my husband stopped going. It’s sad and I understand that people don’t know what they don’t know. I ordered a simple Pastrami sandwich with yellow mustard on toasted Marble Rye. Apparently that was too difficult. Since I had gotten the order to go I didn’t realize what they had given me until I got to her house. What did I receive? I am attaching a photo of the sandwich – which was on UNtoasted regular Rye with brown mustard on one side. I was the only customer in the store, so it wasn’t like they were busy. I know that prices have gone up, but this is not a $15 sandwich.
I have run businesses for over 30 years, so I know when it’s time for someone to step in and up their game.

Came here back in September and ordered 5 sandwiches and an appetizer. Only received 4 sandwiches and our pickle platter. Called to see if we could come back for the last sandwich, but they said they were closing. Requested a reimbursement and was told that they took care of it. I asked if they could send a digital receipt, but they reassured me that it was already charged back. It was never reimbursed.

The food was good, and we especially liked the pickle platter, but because of this experience we will not be returning to this establishment.

We were out and about in Rehoboth running errands around lunch time. My mother had looked up Rosenfeld’s prior to us moving to DE and was looking forward to eating here. Started of with them not having tongue which was exactly what my mother wanted. She settled for matzoball soup and 1/2 pastrami sandwich. My aunt had matzoball soup and a round potato knish (knish was good the next day). I opted for matzoball in chicken noodle soup and 1/2 adult grilled cheese sandwich – hold the American cheese (swiss and munster were remaining). They brought me back plain matzoball soup and a swiss and cheddar grilled cheese because they were out of munster cheese. I did not want cheddar … why not ask me before making it?! The Atmosphere was pretty cool with the illustrations having you using your mind to remember who everyone is. Not a place I would go back to though, especially for the prices alone. You get 3 measly sour pickles ‘complimentary’. Even in the diners back up north you get coleslaw and pickles for free.

Our experience started off great. Awesome service, such a friendly atmosphere. Complimentary pickles!! Yaya! My daughter and I couls snack in pickles all day, so this was a great highlight! We had intentions of having a breakfast style early lunch. However, once we sat down my hubby and I quickly changed our minds and went for sandwiches. I had the For the Birds, although with munster instead of Swiss. I could only wat half, it was a huge sandwich. The coleslaw with turkey is a great combo. My hubby had The Papa Joe and he was very happy with his choice. Our daughter had an everything bagel that came fresh out of the oven with cream cheese. She said it was the best. We were glad that we stopped in and gave it a try before our journey back home.
We came back, and were very pleased with our meals again. The service is great, and the food is excellent. French toast was the best I have ever tried.

Let’s start with the woman behind the counter, I understand she’s probably close to retirement, but she couldn’t have been more displeased with having to serve me.

I’ve had knishes from multiple places in the course of my entire life, never once have I gotten one microwaved! So let today be the first time.
It had so much potential too, it could’ve been so much better if it was just grilled.

So as I sat there, wondering how much longer it was going to be for my knish, since I had seen it put in the microwave for one minute only to watch as it sat there sadly waiting for me to eat it several minutes later.

I had such high hopes being a huge fan of kosher food, but this ain’t it

Also, is it doubling as a daycare?

My wife and I have drove past this place tons of times and finally decided to check it out. We ordered a couple sandwiches and a few sides to go. I went with the “Papa Joe” and my wife went with a traditional Reuben. We were both satisfied with our sandwiches. I would definitely go back again.

I have lived in the area my entire life and have never been to Rosenfeld’s. Today marks the first time. And I am absolutely amazed. I think I found my new sandwich spot!!!

When we first sat down, we played a game to see if we could name every celebrity on the wall. After naming them, we realized that they were all Jewish! I think that’s pretty fascinating and a pretty cool feature in the restaurant.

My party all got Tuna Melts and they loved it!!!! I had the For The Birds. Delicious! Sarah was an excellent waitress as well along with the utility member who kept herself busy the entire time we were seated which is great to see. Well done to everyone involved. I will be back again, and again, and again. Thank you!!!

Three of us went there for lunch. The service was great. Three different sandwiches were ordered. Pastrami, Corned Beef, and Turkey. Pastrami was a little dry, but I forgot to order it with sauerkraut, so my bad I guess. Everything else was fine. I should not compare it with the deli’s in NYC I used to go to 40 years ago. The world has changed, why not delicatessens? I will just say it was a nice change to go there for lunch.
