I love purchasing Rosehill fresh seafood and cooking it myself. Their seafood is always fresh and never disappoint. The guys in the market will clean and dress it how ever you would like them to. They have a good price margin when comparing to other markets in the area. My only wish is one day they will bring a market to their neighboring town of Phenix City, Alabama.

Same great food! I haven’t eaten here since it opened back up but the food is as good as ever and the portions are excessive! I got whole fried catfish and there were at least 6 pieces.

The food was cooked to perfection (party of 4). The slaw and hushpuppies were so good. Our server gave us exceptional service. We are so glad Buford bought Rose Hill so this historic restaurant can continue on in Columbus !!

“I remembered the Oyster Stew being better.”

Was in town for a couple of hours and decided to grab some to take home… Well it was NOT worth the trip or money spent! 2/5

Food was extremely delicious! I would go back over and over. besides the one white man on the market side. He acts like he is better than the rest of the workers in there. He treats the other men in the market like he owns the place. I have came in about 4 times since the new owner and everytime i just sit back and observe. He has been very rude to customers and employees.. I know this review wont do anything because he is white but I figured I would let other customers know what to look out for.

I didn’t appreciate the not so subtle southernness of this place when I was a kid, but over the years, the nostalgia has grabbed me. The food is always tasty (oysters and seafood platter for me and catfish for my love tonight) and it was delicious. One of the only places left in the area that allow you to brown bag your alcohol (Beer, liquor or wine of your choice from anywhere but there) and it makes for some interesting conversations. So if you’re in the area, give it a try. It’s fantastic.

I’ve been here twice. My friend and I went there before they closed down and went there recently with the reopening. My first time was a great experience and the food was great. Everything was great to include getting great customer service from our waitress. My second experience was quite the opposite. I ordered the same thing I ordered the first time which was mackerel (whole) meal and when it was brought to our table it didn’t look like mackerel and it sure didn’t taste like mackerel. It had a muddy taste like I was eating Tilapia, catfish, or some other fish from fresh muddy water. Our waitress said it was mackerel when I told her about it so I just thought it was my taste buds. Mackerel is a salt water fish. I ordered another whole mackerel meaI to take home because my husband also likes mackerel. When I came home later that night, I asked my husband how his meal was and he said he couldn’t eat the fish after the first bite or two because it tasted muddy and it didn’t taste like mackerel. I will not be going there anymore.

I haven’t been to Rosehill in about 15 years. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great. Not overly seasoned and fresh. Cathy our server was great as well. I will be turning very soon.

Been going to Rosehill since 2008, when they closed down I could not find catfish anywhere in Columbus as good as theirs so when they reopened I was very thankful to finally have some great fried catfish again, it is always hot when served, cooked to perfection and the breading doesnt outdo the fish like at some other places in town. Always have great service, dining in or getting it to go.
