In Kansas City its no secret that BBQ is more than just a fad or passing craze. KC and BBQ are just synonymous, you can’t mention one without the other. So, why KC and why Rosedale? First, as mentioned above BBQ is a cornerstone of KC and Rosedale is one of the originals, starting on July 4, 1934. It’s an institution, rich with history and traditions. Its more than just the smoke and the meat, although that plays a large role. It’s the tried and true recipes and methods, it’s smoking low and slow, it’s quality product at competitive prices. This was a good place for lunch. We received service quickly and with some playful banter. We got the ribs and burnt ends dinners. The bread, fries, and coleslaw were normal and typical for a KC bbq joint. The beans, however, were unexpectedly special… I think they had lots of green peppers to give it a nice flavor. I really enjoyed those. The ribs and burnt ends were good and bountiful. I would not say they are the best I’ve had in KC, but they are good for KC bbq. The portions, good flavors, and friendly staff make this an easy recommendation from me. Go have a plate! Don’t forget to ask to try the spicy sauce!

Got the Burnt Ends Dinner, it’s was fantastic! I loved the beans with the little spicy kick and the meat was so tender and flavorful. When I’m back in town I’ll surely stop by again. Thank you!

What a great place for barbecue! Ginormous portions of delicious food. I had the seven slab rib plate. The meat just fell off the bones. But that sauce tho….thick, sweet, just a little tang and then a little kick just to make sure you’re paying attention. All of the sides were great but the baked beans are a must-have. Drink menu includes the regular tea and soft drinks and over 30 varieties of beer. Even if you’re just passing through stop by for a plate.

Cute restaurant, I think I read it’s been there since 1934. Great seating areas inside and outside. I wish the chicken skin was a little crispy, but the taste was great. A burnt-end sandwich is a favorite. Fries were yummy in thr bbq sauce. The coleslaw was a home run! Thank you

Well from travel all over the US . Had a lot of Great BBQ but going off some a person. Saying try this location as good BBQ my Company charged up about 130. Bill . Food came to our location . Open sauce container.leaked all in the bag in food. Worst part was 10 people ordered food. And the food was not edible. Food was thrown away in the trash immediately. And the leftover remaining food was kept for a week. I attempted to retrieve or come up with a positive resolution. After 2 1/2 weeks. Cash app that was not successful from Rosedale. I read this one of the worst barbecue places in Kansas City. Or just a bad day. Sauce taste like all old bay seasoning. I do have photos. May incorporate with this post. Management very poor with the reply back. And then make things right. 2023 save your money.

Local, family owned and operated. BEST smoked turkey in town! You can’t do Kansas City without BBQ and Rosedale has been a staple every time I need great, smokey, molasses sauce. The aroma of smoked meats hits you as you enter the parking lot.

Rosedale BBQ is an iconic staple of Kansas City. I have tried many of the bbq joints around town but Rosedale is top notch and always a go to. In business since 1934 and owned by the same family speaks volumes about their business and their food. My dad who would be 76 now, used to tell me stories about eating at Rosedale Bbq when he was a kid.
