We started with the shrimp cocktail and crab cake- both delectable -I had the petite filet and my husband had the bone in filet both cooked to perfection! Webster recommended the loaded mashed potatoes and they were truly loaded with yummy goodness – we finished with the butter cake and what a delicious finish!! I cannot recommend this location enough!
Seating with a reservation was quick and easy!
My husband Walter and I celebrated Sweetest Day with dinner at Rosebud in Munster, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
The service was absolutely top notch—our server, Josh, was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and the cocktails. He made us feel so welcome and helped guide us through the menu with great recommendations.
The food? Amazing. Every bite was delicious and clearly made with care. The drinks were just as impressive—top tier in every way.
We also had the pleasure of meeting another server named Rhino. After overhearing him chat with a nearby table, we found out there’s a cocktail named after him. Naturally, we had to try it—and we’re so glad we did! It was fantastic and definitely worth ordering.
All in all, Rosebud made our Sweetest Day truly special. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

I ordered the Trio Medallion Steak entrée, priced at $48, and from the moment it arrived, I was underwhelmed. The dish is supposed to be topped with different herb butters, but by the time it reached the table, the butter had completely slid off the medallions. It was unclear whether the butter had melted into the potatoes or if it was meant to be part of the presentation, but either way, the plating looked messy and unfinished.
More importantly, the food was not hot—just lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out while waiting for the rest of our large party’s meals to come out. I ordered my steak medium with a little pink, but it arrived well done and extremely dry. While the seasoning itself was present, the overcooked steak completely took away from the experience. For a restaurant known for steak—and at that price point—I expected far better execution and attention to detail.
The service, to be fair, was good. Our server was attentive and professional. However, the food itself didn’t reflect the level of quality I associate with a high-end steakhouse. Given the presentation, temperature, and doneness issues, it just didn’t feel like a five-star steakhouse experience.
It was a very busy Sunday, with many large parties celebrating birthdays and events, and we were also part of a large group. I can’t help but feel that the volume of guests may have affected the care and intention put into the food. Because of that, I’m hesitant to completely write the restaurant off—I might consider giving it another try on a less crowded weekday to see if the experience is different.
That said, based on this visit alone, Rosebud Munster didn’t meet my expectations, especially for the price. I truly expected more from the steak itself, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel like I got what I paid for
