This is a Chicagoland institution but I had never been here! I met a friend for Friday evening happy hour which was great. They have an excellent happy hour menu.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays so the atmosphere was so warm and inviting on a Friday night!
The espresso martini was delicious and our bartender was really attentive and ensured our water glasses were constantly filled.
I cannot wait to come back to dine!

Love having Rosebud as a close option to home. We used to frequent the Chicago locations when living in the city. Decadent pastas, decent steaks, non-alcoholic options for drinks, and stellar service (front-of-house, managers, servers, etc…). Food has consistently been delicious for lunch and dinner and our family now frequent this location regularly for a good meal in a pleasant interior with attentive service. Love their filet, the pappardelle pasta or ravioli, their green beans – just to name a few good/solid options. Parking is easy, and I always leave there feeling full and rejuvenated. We’ll be back again soon when we’re back in town.

You can never go wrong with anything you order on the menu. Been coming here for years and from the service to the drinks to the food, hands down one of my favorite suburban restaurants. The brick chicken is my favorite. Crisp outside, soft tender inside, topped with lemon and herbs and served with potato wedges (or substitute steamed broccoli) its big enough for two (unless you are starved). Other favorites include the chopped salad and lamb chops. If you dont have reservations the staff is accommodating, so dont get discouraged. Their small outdoor patio is nice as well.

I am glad we had a gift card to spend. We came wanting ribeye, and were disappointed. We should have gotten pasta instead.
The fried calamari appetizer and seafood salad was good. The steaks were not good. We ordered two medium rare, one came out okay, but one was definitely medium well. We inquired about it, and the properly cooked steak was brought out immediately. I think they must have brought us the wrong tables.
There were two servers “working together” but neither were easy to find when we needed help. Even getting our improperly cooked steak fixed took a while.
We might come back for pasta or the calamari appetizer, but we will definitely skip the steak.

We had a large takeout order. It was a gift from out of town friends who purchased a gift card through the Deerfield location. Louis, the manager, helped make the dinner possible by working with our friends and me so I could collect the gift card enabling me to place the dinner order.

I pre-ordered the dinner and it was ready on time, packaged beautifully. Nothing spilled, nothing leaked, not even the olive oil or salad dressing – AMAZING!

Despite being packaged the presentation was lovely, especially the chopped salad which was colorful and fresh looking. We ordered the full tray.

We also ordered a full tray of spaghetti, meatballs on the side, 1/2 tray of eggplant Parmesan, 1/2 tray of Chicken Vesuvious, 1/2 tray of crispy potatoes, and 1/2 tray of steamed broccoli. Bread loaves, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and salad dressing came with the meal.

Everything was delicious. The spaghetti and eggplant Parmesan were the best I’ve ever had. The fries and broccoli were fresh and tasty. I don’t eat chicken but those who did said it was also delicious.

We had anywhere from 8 to 14 people for dinner over the course of 3 days. This order covered all 3 days. The amount of food we ordered was the perfect amount.

I would order from Rosebud again and again, no complaints, no hassles, just a great meal of comfort food.

Deerfield Rosebud Take out: lasagna and ravioli for Christmas Day dinner was amazingly delicious. I mean Sicilian Nana level exceptional lick the plate delicious. The ravioli are our competency test of any restaurant serving Italian food. Rosebud ravioli get A+. The edges were just the right thickness and cooked perfectly. This takes skill because is so difficult to make sure the varying thicknesses of the ravioli dough are pressed together & cooked through. No “al dente” for ravioli! The rich tasting meat flavored tomato based marinara. Been going to Rosebud for years and years. They do always a good job. The meat lasagna was really good too. Generous layers of pasta sheets, ricotta and ground meats with the super good sauce. Wow!

We recently dined here and overall the food was actually really good. Most of what we ordered tasted great and we were enjoying our experience at first. However, there was a very serious issue that completely changed the night for us.

My friend ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which is normally a safe option for her since that dish typically doesn’t contain shellfish. She has a shellfish allergy and there was absolutely no indication on the menu that the mushrooms contained shellfish. There was no warning, labeling, or note of any kind. Unfortunately, after eating them, she began having an allergic reaction. The only way we knew there was shellfish in the dish was because she asked the manager what they made with the sauce.

We immediately informed the manager, and instead of being apologetic or showing concern, he was not very kind or understanding. There was little acknowledgment of how serious the situation was. We even had to ask to have the mushrooms removed from the bill, which was disappointing given the circumstances. We ended up having to leave early because her reaction was getting worse.

While the food itself was good, situations like this matter. Shellfish is a very common allergy, and there absolutely should have been some type of clear labeling or warning on the menu. Proper allergen transparency and better customer service in situations like this are really important.

I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves both allergen communication and how situations like this are handled in the future.
Also, the tables were very crammed together.

Disappointing birthday visit. It really does make or break your experience depending on the service you receive especially when celebrating an occasion. My mistake to have chosen this restaurant. Server did not return after we received our dishes to check on us so we couldn’t tell her all of our dishes were lukewarm. Bread was hard and old. Never received any drink refills. I believe all of our “needs” were standard at best. We felt like we were a bother as it was a Sunday night after the holidays. It just surprises me that a restaurant like this would have so many misses. I wanted to have a manager come to the table to notify them of our situation but my husband and family were already so upset overall and I didn’t want to add to the night being spoiled further. Again, choose wisely where you want to celebrate your special occasions, what a let down.

The menu is great and the bite of food I had was decent. But their food allergy safety is terrible. Ordered takeout. Two Baked Ziti, one without sausage, and the other with gluten free pasta. Restaurant mislabeled the regular pasta as gluten free. I did eat a half piece of pasta before knowing it was labeled incorrectly and had a small allergic reaction. When this was brought up to the manager, he brushed off the fact that he could seriously harm someone by mislabeling gluten free food and did not offer a refund of any kind. Despite the restaurant’s claims that the other dish was actually gluten free, I did not eat the food and had to throw it away because I could go into anaphylaxis and was unsure which dish actually gluten free. Only when I called back and asked for a refund did the manager refund one of the baked zitis. Unacceptable allergen protocols and service.

We’ve had two great meals here! Davide always greets us like family. There are some tasty cocktails and the pasta always comes out al dente. I really enjoyed the short ribs pasta while my wife opts for the pasta fra diavolo. There is a nice mix of more authentic Italian dishes like cacio e pepe along with Americanized favorites like fettuccine Alfredo. We will be coming back again.
