Rosebud Coffee is Pasadena’s only social enterprise cafe. We serve artisan and craft coffee while also training transitional aged youth as barista’s. We have a large open space with indoor seating. We serve teas, lemonades, chai, and handmade chocolate. We also serve food such as pastries, paninis, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Our coffee is third wave coffee that serves traditional sizes and features light to medium roast coffees. As a social enterprise, we are excited to work with local youth from around Pasadena and the LA area. We can also take out our coffee cart of events.

However, there are a few things I disliked. Although they have WiFi, they turn it off on weekends to encourage conversation between guests. While I enjoyed my visit without my laptop, I would have liked the option to bring it on a weekend if I wanted to step out of the house. They also place little boards on specific tables indicating that they are laptop-free zones, which feels a bit intrusive.
The staff at the counter was friendly and great, but the rest of the staff didn’t seem to be taking their shifts seriously. You have to stand very close to the order area to hear your name called because most of the staff just call names casually, except for one gentleman who actually yelled out names. The rest were chatting amongst themselves, with nothing to do, which was a bit odd.
I want to like this place and maybe it was just an off day. I’ll try coming back on a weekday and hope to update my review with more stars because I’m new to the area and looking for a regular coffee spot.
I ordered their latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Solid flavor and perfect temperature.
This spot is a pretty big space for coffee. I’d definitely come back here again and try their other menu items.
Rosebud serves great coffees and teas. The owner Dan told me that he trains each barista to differentiate each types of coffee by smell. This results in fantastic coffee in each cup.
Not only coffee and teas are good here, the pastries are mesmerizing too. I loved their almond croissant where they added chocolate in the almond paste fillings resulting creamy and tasty croissant. They have a few of pastries on display which I don’t recognize. I guess they invented their own.
Besides coffee and pastries, Rosebud also has a microbrewery on site. But no beers served in the morning. So I didn’t have a chance to taste their beer. We shall come back in an after to taste their beer.
They do have plenty of parking in the back and on the street. It’s ideal for big group gathering.
What a great concept ! Just ordered a flat white . It was good but not great ! The espresso is a bit too strong but if you like strong coffee, then I recommended I would come back to try something else!
Love that there’s lots of parking and that the space is so big. Only came for the coffee side of things, not the bar portion of the space, but I would happily come back!
