The portion size was large but that was the only positive . The pork looked like it was slices of ham there was some tomato slices under the rice which was
bland , chiii sauce was a rough chopped up chiii , lime wedges were 2 thin slices of lemon , egg on top ( which was extra ) was hard and rubbery . Possibly the worst Thai fried rice I’ve had . It’s not a complex dish as far as Thai Cuisine is concerned , I was hoping for a bit of comfort food to take me back there but instead left most of my dish on the table and went and paid the bill . When I was asked if everything was okay I replied that it wasn’t what I’m used to . I didn’t make a fuss , people were starting to come in numbers . I was then told oh maybe you like the fish sauce but you not ask . I just smiled shook my head and left . I’ve traveled around Thailand plenty over the years and eaten great Thai food in Australia , Thailand and other countries . I wasn’t going to worry about it but the fish sauce comment lead to this review. In most places I’ve had this simple but tasty dish all the condiments ( including fish sauce) are already on the table for you to enjoy , no asking needed ! I’ve read some good reviews and am sure they do other dishes well but unless the regular chef wasn’t there that was a big let down .
My partner and I have searched the whole city to find a thai restaurant that always delivers excellent food and these guys nail it every time!
Tom Kha soup is one of my FAVOURITE soups, and there are only 2 places I’ve ever been to that make it perfectly, so beautifully smooth and flavourful, one place is 12 hrs away and made me fall in love with that soup— when i moved to brisbane 2 years ago i searched A LOT to find a place that even remotely replicated the one from my favourite small thai restaurant far away, and this place IS IT! they make it just like they do at my home town, and it is delicious every time, and with a side of coconut rice… it’s like heaven in your belly
If you haven’t been here, i can’t recommend enough!
entrees and mains are all done very well and authentic.
I get the lunch special occasionally and it is well priced for the amount you get.
Green curry is amazing, all the meat options are high quality.
I’ve been coming here with my family for well over a year now and have never had an issue with the food, it has definitely been quite tasty in my experience.
( TMI SECTION!!! ) However, this bout of food poisoning I had was so bad I was essentially kneeled over the toilet for hours and unfortunately had it coming out both ends (sometimes at the same time), until I finally exhausted myself at 5:00am Sunday morning and then basically slept the entire day. I then got to deal with the very fun post food poisoning joy of chills, clammy sweats, and a temp of 38.8 degrees. Not to mention the cramping you get in your tummy after vomiting all night.
This has truthfully really soured my view of this restaurant, and I’m almost certain it was due to the King Prawns I added to the soup. Either they had gone off or it was caused by them being left out at room temp for far too long. Please be mindful of this in the future, this can be lethal.
Otherwise, I’ve had many yummy meals here in the past but this has really made me go off this place for a good while. Take care when ordering from here.
