Popped into Rosa’s Thai on Frederick Street for a bite. The food was decent tasty and well-prepared, though not the most authentic I’ve had. It’s good, reliable Thai food.

What really stood out was the friendly service and the great central location, right near Princes Street. Perfect if you want a convenient, no-fuss meal with a nice atmosphere. Solid choice for a casual dinner.

I had one of the best experiences ever! Absolutely immaculate restaurant design, incredible Pad Thai, the most decadent Bangkok Spirit. Every bite was a symphony of authentic Thai. I admire Violet, a compassionate server, whose meticulous service exceeded expectations.

I strongly recommend going to Rosa’s Thai Edinburgh! The beautiful restaurant is a delightful solo culinary encounter or a first time date. With savory and sweet notes, both drinks and meals reveal a vibrant bite.

Thank you, Violet, for an incredible experience. I felt extremely welcomed!

In Edinburgh for a few days and decided to eat here on one of the nights. Sophie and Millie were brilliant, really attentive to what we needed and were quick with the service for us. The food was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Will definitely come back if we’re in Edinburgh again

If you love Thai food in a spicy and delicious version this is a must visit place. The food is spot on and unbelievably tasteful and spicy. And it has loads of vegetarian options to choose from which makes it more appealing. The best part was they had pumpkin crackers in kids menu which were thoroughly enjoyed by the little one.

Really enjoyed my meal here! I ordered the Pad Thai and the Khao Soi noodle soup, and both were delicious. The Khao Soi stood out especially rich, comforting, and full of flavour, with a great balance of spice.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the portions are generous, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Definitely a great spot if you’re in the mood for Thai food in Edinburgh!

Worst Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to

I’m Asian, so Thai food isn’t new to me — and I can honestly say this is the worst Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

1. Tom Yum Talay Mo Fai (£25)
The broth wasn’t hot enough, and the small candle used to “reheat” it couldn’t properly warm the pot. Some of the prawn balls were half-cooked, and since the broth stayed lukewarm, they never fully cooked through. The soup was overloaded with crushed lemongrass, onions, and other spices — so every scoop of noodles came with a pile of inedible bits.

2. Som Tum Salad (Large) (£11.50)
Despite being labeled “large,” it came in a small bowl. A few stale cashews were sprinkled on top — they tasted old and cheap, probably sitting around for years. The presentation was poor, and the portion size disappointing.

3. Fried Rice with Egg (£4.45)
Plain and flavorless — it felt like a children’s meal, not restaurant-quality Thai food.

4. Thai Tea (£4)
This isn’t Thai tea — I don’t know what they served, but it certainly wasn’t what the name suggests. It looked unappetizing and was extremely sweet. One sip was enough.

Overall, this place was a total waste of money and time. Horrible food, poor presentation, and low quality. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great service and food! The portions are huge and with reasonable prices. The only thing we didn’t enjoy as much is drinks but it didn’t impact our experience that much. Will definitely revisit when there’s a chance.

Tried their green curry, which is quite authentic, it is spicy enough though not too sweet. The curry is thick and just nice for cold weather now.
Both egg fried rice and coconut rice match the green curry and smells nice.
Satay chicken is nice with spice on it and match with the satay sauce, not too sweet.
Roasted coconut drink in can, feels refreshing as well.

Good environment, a little noise when the restaurant is quite packed, but manageable.
Waiter and waitress were friendly and helpful from finding table, ordering, checking for food and bill.

Came for early dinner and the food and service was fantastic! We got the Aubergine dish to start and Khao Mun Gai for mains, the broth especially was delicious! A must try!! Our servers Aaron and Violet were so attentive!

This is a cute restaurant in a central location. We went for the lunch deal which seemed good value with drink, starter and main included. However the choice wasn’t that varied, though I believe the lunch menu is not fixed so it may have been better on other days. One of the starters of aubergine fritters was crunch but tasteless and the green curry/ pad Thai was pretty average fare. Service was friendly and quick. It could be that we should have ordered from the A la carte menu so we may go back another time.
