Delicious food! My daughter and I came here. Waited for a table (fine), ordered but then waited quite a while for our food. Our waiter was very nice and updated us or apologized for the wait but it seemed extra long considering what we ordered. Anyway, the food was great. I got the Street Tacos (pic) and my daughter got the burrito. Then we got the churros with chocolate sauce!

I’m glad that during lunch hour on a Saturday, other businesses were closed. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have stopped to eat here. One of the best decisions I made that weekend.
Food? Amazing. Service? Efficient. Staff? Friendly and VERY helpful?
Atmosphere? Very homey.
Chips and salsa were complimentary if I recall correctly.
We had the quesadilla and carne asada fajita. We HIGHLY recommend either one.
Can’t wait to go back.

the service was very friendly and fast. the steak quesadilla was probabaly the best thing. their rice and beans and their chips and salsa are also very yummy. with the birria tacos i ordered, i felt like the consome was not strong enough, it didn’t really have a birria flavor. the food fills you up pretty nice and is a satisfying meal. we didn’t take a picture of the dessert but the raspberry toute is a must try! i also like how it is not too loud in the restaurant.

I got the tinga chicken burrito and my wife got the tacos. The food came out pretty quickly and was hot and delicious. The serving size was quite a bit so be hungry.

We stopped by Rosalita’s because of the great reviews, and I’m honestly not sure what happened because our experience really didn’t match the reviews. For reference, we went at around 7:30 PM on a Saturday in September.

The inside of the restaurant is honestly a very neat place. Chips and Salsa were great as well.

The waiter we had was abnormally slow and we spent a lot of time waiting for him to come back with drinks and such.

My meal (the Pollo Cancun) was good; however, the portion size was a little ‘eh’ for the price. The chicken breast was very thin, and there were three average sized shrimp on top served over rice. There was some shredded lettuce on the side with a scoop of guacamole on top.

Another member of my family ordered the Carne Asada Fajitas. The Carne Asada came out way overcooked. I normally order steak like a heathen and get it medium well, but the Carne Asada was way past ‘well done.’

Plenty of parking.

Might give the restaurant another shot because it seems like there is potential.

Best meal I’ve had on the island so far! Our server, Domingo, was wonderful. So helpful and attentive to accommodate our family’s food allergies and ensure we had a great meal. Excellent tequila selection. Best margaritas on the island by far (and super reasonably priced!) can’t wait to go back!

We stopped in for a couple of margaritas around lunchtime on a weekday which are excellent! We were pleasantly surprised. The only thing we ate there were the chips and salsa. Salsa was a bit spicy andwas great and you can tell it’s homemade. They have a happy hour 3–5 P but we did not get to try this time!

Excellent service! And the restaurant is clean and nice. Very spacious.

Rosalita’s Cantina is an awesome addition to Sanibel Island’s somewhat short list of great restaurant options (especially after the hurricane destruction). The food is outstanding and mostly everything is made in-house. The staff is energetic and engaging, and overall service is top notch. I’ve been vacationing on the island for 30+ years and already feel confident adding this place to the top 5 all time places to go. If you’re wondering where to eat and drink on Sanibel or Captiva, please give this place a try!

Great bar.
Great drinks.
Fresh and new atmosphere.
Comfortable seating and spacing.
Plenty of parking.

Can’t wait to go back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ate here in February 2026. Upscale Mexican-style food. Food was good, but smaller portions. Booth tables were lower and a tight fit. Staffing was less than expected, so we did not get a visit from our waitress after the order was taken, until long after we finished eating. I had to ask another employee for a beverage refill. Overall, it was a good restaurant, and was one of the few located in that area of Sanibel Island.

Reading the most recent reviews, I now see there may be a pattern of behavior with this restaurant not providing good service while within the last few hours of closing.

We arrived and were seated at 8pm (they don’t close until 9:30) I can’t tell you how disappointed my husband and I are with our experience.

Our 6 year old daughter has celiac disease and this place has great safety/cross-contamination ratings on the findmeglutenfree app and we were so excited to try this place out. And now, unfortunately I can’t even review based on food, but rather the absolutely dismal customer service.

Our table was seated and for the next 15 minutes, not a single human came to welcome us, check in on us, or offer drinks, or just tell us that they’ll figure out what’s going on. After 10 minutes one of the waiters noticed us and told the host, and then another 5 minutes passed without a single person addressing us. It’s important to note that the restaurant was emptying out around us and there were tons of staff around talking, joking, and laughing with each other, so I don’t think it was a staffing issue.

We left and told the hostess station on the way out, and received a very apathetic “oh, I’m sorry” with no attempt to rectify.

Apparently their tactic of pushing people out by providing poor service worked on us, but if this is how you’re going to run a business – just close your doors earlier or stop seating at a designated cut off time.

There was a little girl excited to eat some good food and feel included for once who got completely ignored by the staff and as a parent it’s infuriating. As a patron who realizes that probably an emotional reaction, just do better.
