Filomena’s is an institution in Georgetown! It’s such a special place for all the right reasons: great ambiance, amazing decor for every holiday, attentive service and delicious and hearty food!
The menu can be overwhelming with options, but you can’t go wrong with anything in here.
One of my go to dishes here is the short rib ragú pappardelle. It’s a rustic dish that’s hearty and will stick to your bones. Wish there was a better meat to noodle ratio as it’s chock full of meat. But then again I love me my pasta!
The seafood carbonara is rich and creamy.
Another one of my faves is the ravioli chiacchieri. Ravioli is tender and cheesy in a creamy rose sauce with shrimp and scallops.
There’s a rich history of celebrities, politicians, musicians, and athletes that have been through Filomena’s, and I can see why.

An unforgettable meal and a beautiful atmosphere. My linguine and clams (not on menu) were incredible, the bread was absolutely delicious, and my Tiramesu was fantastic. Our server Gennaro aka Edgar was outstanding, warm, attentive, and made the night feel special.
Frontier desk staff was warm and welcoming to everyone.
This place means so much to us. My husband brought me here 8 years ago when we first started dating, and coming back all the way from Texas was pure magic. Still just as amazing. ❤️

Came to DC with a friend to visit her daughter and they had made reservations for 4 3 months prior, so it worked out great for us to join them. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the food was delicious (and enough for 2 meals). I personally recommend the ravioli and meatballs, as you can see we 3 agree! Desserts were over the top. We all ordered a different dessert and then shared with each other, after thought was we should have done that with dinner as well. Next time I guess, as we will definitely be back.

Filomena is truly my favorite restaurant! Their homemade pastas are out of this world incredibly fresh, rich, and full of authentic flavor. You can really taste the love and tradition in every bite.
The atmosphere is super classy and very high elegant, yet warm and welcoming at the same time. It feels like stepping into a place full of history, comfort, and charm. The service is always amazing, very special place for special occasions.

My family and I came here with high expectations! My wife had been trying to get reservations for months, so we were very excited 🙂 We’d also seen that Jon Bernthal stopped by earlier in January, so we were pumped! Our table ended up being very close to where he had sat which we loved!
The atmosphere here was amazing as they had everything decorated for Valentine’s Day all over! Hearts roses and doves everywhere you look.
The service here was also exceptional as our server was very attentive and accommodating.
The Ambiance of the place is unmatched and very romantic.
The food here was outstanding! Everything arrived hot and fresh from the bread that they initially give you with the olive oil, to our main entrees and even the desserts! They make everything look so appetizing and the desserts are inside of a case so you can see all of them live.
You can taste the love that was put into preparing each of the dishes. We had a little bit of everything from pasta to cake. Nothing disappointed and we will gladly return!

As someone who is a DC native and reviewer of many wonderful places I’m happy to add this one to my list of stellar 2026 visits. Even the bathrooms are very clean which is always a thing I check for, especially in high-end restaurants.
What an amazing experience my family and I had and I can’t wait to invite others to come back and join us for our next visit 🙂 if you’ve seen any of my other reviews you know I don’t go lightly on places and I don’t recommend just any place! This is an Italian restaurant where reservations are absolutely necessary, as it is always very busy and popular. You won’t be able to get in without one. It’s important to keep in mind that the restaurant is quite expensive; however, the prices are justified because the portions are very large and the quality of the food is excellent.
The only real downside is that the restaurant is almost always packed, which makes it very noisy and sometimes difficult to have a proper conversation with the person sitting next to you. That said, everything else makes up for it. The service is impeccable, with attentive and professional staff, and the food is consistently delicious.

Absolutely delicious meatballs. The staff were very polite and their service was truly top notch. The bar seating was comfortable and overall atmosphere was relaxing. The free bread was quite nice. Food wise do yourselves a favor and get the meatball, they were absolutely amazing. Overall if you want great Italian food then check them out.

We happen to stay in Georgetown DC and on the way to the hotel the name caught my eye, because one of our family members has the same name Filomena. We have to go eat there I told my husband. Shortly after we walked in, the restaurant is downstairs so it’s a flight down. We were greeted and seated immediately even though the place was packed on a Monday night. The atmosphere is happy and energetic. The food comes quick in huge plates. We had the vodka rigatoni with chicken. It’s the best vodka rigatoni we ever had in our entire life. Better I have to say than Italy itself.
Plates are to be shared, the service was excellent. We will fly back there just to go eat at Filomena Ristorante

The OG Italian restaurant in Georgetown. They truly know how to make every visit feel special. One of my favorite things is how beautifully they decorate the restaurant based on the season — whether it’s Christmas, New Year’s, or Valentine’s Day, the attention to detail is always incredible.
