The food was pretty good, and you get a lot of it. But it is incredibly heavy with tons of butter. The flavors are not very intricate or delicate. And while you get a lot of food, the quality doesn’t seem to justify the price. That said this is an establishment, and an experience that is a lot of fun. We will definitely go back. But at this price point, there are much better Italian restaurants in the DC area.

wow I mean wow! this is the spot impeccable service excellent food! flavors in this deeply textured delicious food that I recall from growing up with my Italian grandmother’s cooking. a little bit pricey but you feel a good value exchange in terms of quality food and service for the price. leave room for the cheesecake / my wife it is the best cheesecake she has experienced EVER!

While the prices are steep, we took advantage of restaurant week to get a good deal. Rather than pay $40 for a single entree, we payed $55 for a three course meal. While pricy, the overall atmosphere allows for great conversation. If you eat meat, you will have many great options. If you are vegetarian or do not eat meat, you might have a significantly harder time. However, this might have been a result of the limited menu as a part of restaurant week. Overall, the food was good and so was the service. It is a high class restaurant that will not have you spending over a $100 a person. Also the portion sizes are massive— I ordered the ravioli where I got ten pieces of stuffed ravioli, enoguh to take home 5. It was definitely on the heavier side, but it still tasted pretty good. The tiramisu was also good, but not anything that is memorialized in my mind.

Filomena had a tackiness that makes the place cute and stand out from the rest. It truly does make you feel like your Italian grandmother is whipping up something in the kitchen— and the staged worker in the front of the restaurant surely helps that idea lol.

I ordered the eggplant pizza for delivery unfortunately I was not impressed considering the high reviews. The delivery came on time and the pizza was warm so no issues there but there was just no flavor. Now, my standards are high considering I used to live in New Haven/New York areas but I also had better at high rated Italian restaurants in Florida. Next time I will stick to pasta dishes.

We had a great lunch on a weekday, which was reserved one day ago. Personally I don’t like the red lighting, so am glad that we got a table by the window!

I went there for dinner for my birthday and it was amazing! Everyone was so kind and hospitable beyond measure. I got the lobster pasta dish, linguine cardinale, and it was easily the best pasta I’ve had in DC so far, and the portions are huge so don’t let the price tag deter you, I couldn’t even finish half my dish. Also the bread is amazing as well. The caramel cheesecake is what I had for dessert and it was so rich and delectable, it’s worth having as a guilt pleasure. I totally recommend it here to anyone and will definitely be back!!

Worth the hype. All meals are big enough to serve two or three, but the options are so great, you’ll get your own anyways. The free aperitif was a great end.
