This was a fun choice for a Girls Night Out in one of my favorite downtowns: Mountain View!
AMBIANCE: Cute outdoor patio to enjoy a summer night. The interior has a nice minimalist design with a variety of seating (bar vs tables).
FOOD: Loved all the dishes we tried! Special points for the Rootstock Flatbread. I would love to come back to try the sandwiches which looked fab and filling.
DRINKS: My friends tried the Summer Sips flight and enjoyed all three choices. I had a white wine which was also delicious, light, and easy to digest.
SERVICE: This is where we lose a star. Within the 2-3 hours we spent here, both of our waiters clocked out, leaving little to no attention or checking in throughout our dining experience. There was also confusion as each waiter told us different info about what wines were actually available. Lights on our outdoor umbrella weren’t turned on until after we had paid the bill (prob 1+ hour after sunset. I would’ve appreciated more attention for the price.

Rootstock Wine Bar in downtown Mountain View is a nice spot. Four of us visited and ordered wine flights and the sparkling Rosé—everything was good, especially the Rosé. The meat and cheese board was also great, with a special mention for the cheese selection.
The service was excellent, and they gave us good wine recommendations. We’ll definitely be back.

Ended up going here on a rainy day. Located on Castro St, was very central, plus the place has a very nice vibe. The Somm was actually very helpful and really made sure we enjoyed what we were drinking at night. A friend tried the flight which then followed with more and we enjoyed the flatbread which came piping hot from the kitchen.

The wines at Rootstock Wine Bar in Mountain View are simply fantastic, with the wine flights being an excellent way to sample a variety of their offerings. The ambiance is both fun and welcoming, and I especially love how open the space is, offering a great view outside. I thoroughly enjoyed the red wines and the charcuterie board. The vibe is perfect, and I’m definitely planning to return for another glass of wine. Great for date night.

Wow! Chris what a nice experience. In town from DC and the Seattle area we randomly stopped in for a bite before heading to the airport. Time was a bit of a crunch. Chris your were kind, hospitable and really went out of your way in the most gracious manner. (Owners and manager note). You guided us in wine selections even brought a comparison without our even asking. You offered help when we asked, about our food choice. Though our time was limited it felt relaxing and enjoyable. And the food and wine selections were on point. Everything came out timely and the flavors were outstanding. We had a mushroom and pesto flatbread that was full of flavor, balanced not a garlic bomb. We enjoyed the Caprese Salad and the Beets and Arugula salad as well. Again full of flavor! Next time we are in town, we’ll be back. For anyone out there reading, go here! It is lovely. ! And thanks again to Chris. You a great at what you do! Stellar service!

I do want to point out that I saw an additional “Operations Fee” surcharge of 5% levied on my bill. I personally think this is poor taste and reflects badly on the Management who should be able to run a profitable business with any and all “operational cost” built into their financial models.
You might as well have labeled this “charitable contribution “ or “donation”, or just raise your prices by 5%.

Pros: great location, simple delicious food, good selection of wines that will fit any budget. Having wine flights and a few beer and cider choices is always plus in my book. Great atmosphere and design inside and outside. Friendly, polite, customer oriented service.
Cons: that restroom! C’mon! The sink is falling off, dirty floor on slow Sunday afternoon. In general,this restroom has more gas station vibe than upscale wine bar. Definitely can use some renovation, redesign, and tlc. Knocking one star off just for it. Sorry, but contrast was way too apparent to miss it.

My favourite wine bar in mountain view! Impeccable service, a huge wine menu both by the glass, flights and bottles, plus they have lovely food offerings. I particularly like the meat and cheese platter, and the beet salad. To top it off, they even have a decent selection of beer for those plus ones that might not appreciate a vino!
