We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Roots. Seasonal Cuisine. We both ordered the filet special with the Delmar topping accompanied by a four-cheese twice-baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed two craft cocktails and finished the evening with a crème brûlée cheesecake topped with a house-made sauce — the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
From the smooth reservation process to the warm welcome from the host, the entire dining experience was exceptional. While this wasn’t our first visit, it was our first time trying the filet, and it did not disappoint. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff for making our celebration so special. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the veggie burger it had to patties. This buyer was to big for. I took off the top layer of bun. I was able to handle burger niche better. Todd is the best bartender ever. He was creative making me sometimes out of the box. This place is a definite do over. Happy hour is from. 3pm to 6pm

Wow! This place is amazing! We were looking, specifically, for a restaurant in Lee’s Summit and wanted someplace nice but not fancy, local and that we hadn’t tried before. Roots Seasonal Cuisine fit the bill and got great reviews. We went in the middle of the afternoon so it wasn’t super busy which was perfect for us as we had a couple of people with diminished hearing. The dining room is comfortable and the service is very attentive and helpful. The food is the star here, though! We had the goat cheese fritters and Philly potato skins for appetizers. The fritters were unique, full of yummy cheese and complimented perfectly with their pear rosemary chutney (Yum!). The potato skins were perfectly crispy and tender and with only four to a plate there were not too many for us. The side salads are quite sizable and very fresh with lots of toppings. Two of us got the butternut squash soup which was wonderful. We got several different entrees: shrimp po’boy wrap with dirty rice (full of shrimp and andouille sausage; rice was very flavorful); chicken & Brie sandwich (also included the yummy pear rosemary chutney on wonderful bread – seasoned fries looked great!), Gourmet Grill sandwich (fancy grilled cheese) and hangar steak and coconut fried lobster tail with a twice baked potato (steak was perfectly cooked, lobster was unique and very good and potato was loaded).
Our entire visit was comfortable and not rushed at all and I don’t feel like it would be any different if we had come at ,inch or dinner times. The menu changes four times a year and we are excited to go back and experience the winter menu when it comes out!

One of our new favorites! Been wanting to try Roots for a while and it did not disappoint. They feature seasonal menus than change every three months.
I had the catch of the day, the sea bass with a roasted red pepper puree. It was phenomenal, as well as the herb risotto I had as the side. My wife got the etouffè which she loved as well.
The drinks we had were great and the drink options all looked pretty good.
Desserts were amazing too! The black erry cobbler was a great end to my meal, and my wife said she’s never had a peanut butter pie as good as the one she got.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality food

I LOVE Indian food. Have had A LOT of butter chicken and chicken tikka masala in my years. Was skeptical when I saw this offering at an American restaurant in spite server saying it was a customer fave. Boy, was I ever wrong.
I was blown away at first bite. Such good, rich and layered flavors! So savory.
Easily tied for 1st place for best Indian dish I’ve ever had. MAD RESPECT, Chefs!

I had lunch on the patio on this lovely Friday. I ordered the Steak Chimichurri Sandwich and a seasonal side salad. Everything was wonderful but the steak sandwich was EXCEPTIONAL. The steak was tender, the sweet pickled peppers added a contrast of acidity and freshness compared the to richness of the chimichurri and the cream sauce. The ciabatta bread soaked up all the flavor while still maintaining a crispy exterior. It was refreshing to order a menu item as unique and memorable as this. The curry wrap did need more substance (too much lettuce) and more sauce and well as being evenly distributed. All in all it was a great experience and would recommend.

I honestly can’t say enough about this place. Been twice this year (summer and fall) and each time I’m thinking about my meal WEEKS later! Ambience top tier, service top tier, and the food 100/10! They don’t have salt/pepper on the table for a reason! Everything seasoned to perfection, nice portions, I have no complaints!

Roots is a favorite for us. We love that the menu changes on a seasonal basis. But they always have fairly consistent variety of items as well. The staff is very helpful and reservations are recommended.
