Really authentic. Best place I been to since working Blacksburg. Would recommend to anyone,anytime, anyplace. Staff was really nice and efficient. Helped me with my choices as It was my first time as a customer. I appreciate what they got going on. 5 of 5 for me.

Mine was half full, I preferred two, they gave the other one to somebody else. I feel bad as those jalapenos and Sriracha are not what they wanted based on what I got swapped with (only 1 other person in line when I got there)
Only go here if you know what you’re doing, over paying for what may be a random meal and snap portions. Still tasty..

I always order ‘create your own bowl’ which is awesome.

Exactly what I wanted and needed. Healthy and flavorful. Also the portions are quite large. I got The Southern and I really loved it. The tangy lemon dressing and pickled onions plus the smokiness of the roots rice and BBQ tofu along with all of the veggies and nice soft chickpeas was delicious. They were also nice and patient with me when I couldn’t make up my damn mind about what I wanted lol

Good things first, it’s a short enough list. The music choice and decor lend a relaxed vibe and the intention to be healthful is clear. That’s about it.
I was surprised and disappointed when I took my first bite and the anticipated freshness of leaves and cilantro lime dressing and the comfort of roasted sweet potatoes and beets were downright demolished by the strong arming flavor of cinnamon sugar. The best I can say about what I got is that I was hungry enough to finish it. My wife liked hers better until she found something in one of her bites that felt like plastic (Picture 2). She emphatically declared “we’re not returning,” to which my body responded with a wave of relief.
There’s no telling what hidden ingredient lurk behind the high vibrational descriptions (I mean… Tahini with soy? Sweet potatoes with cinnamon sugar??). Tread wisely, and if you care about flavor then just order from their preselected menu. If you care about purity, go to the grocery store.

I was beyond impressed with our visit to Roots Natural Kitchen. The staff went above and beyond to ensure safety while ordering gluten free (allergy). This level of care is hard to find in a quick service restaurant and I’m thrilled to add Roots as a safe spot when traveling. I thought the meal was delicious and my 3 kids did as well. We enjoyed the Southern, Rissa, and Balboa bowls. The Balboa actually made my 16 year old “full” which is a rarity. Thank you to the wonderful staff and whoever is responsible for training them. After hours on the road you made this Celiac Mama’s day.

Food is always on point, about $13-18 a bowl, the staff is pretty good, sometimes a bit slow or not welcoming/friendly but it is what it is, they’re not waiters working for tips.
Clean inside, seating available outside, for some reason the Tabasco sauces are always close to empty, but otherwise the atmosphere is great.

This food is ridiculously delicious. In town for a convention…I’d never heard of Roots Natural Kitchen since we unfortunately do not have one near my home. I craved something delectable and the menu looked scrumptious. I created my own bowl with adobo chicken, brown rice, black beans, onions, charred corn, and cilantro lime sauce. It was the best chicken I’ve ever tasted. I could’ve licked the bowl. This is the type of food you never get tired of. Give them a try for something different that’s healthy and tastes flavorful.
PS – please consider building more locations in North Carolina. I only see a Chapel Hill location…please consider Winston-Salem, NC. We’d tear this food up ! I’m really sad I’ll probably never get to have this food again unless I venture out several hours.

This Restaurant could be good if the salads were consistent. I was going to get one at least once a week from across town. Unfortunately it’s not consistent. You can get a good salad one day. The next it doesn’t have all the listed ingredients or the grains are clumped together or greens have not been softened. Will not be going back.

WOW! This is a fantastic spot. The staff was all smiles, singing to music, dancing, what a great atmosphere. They were super patient with my selections and made helpful suggestions on combinations. I got two meals out of my bowl which meant each meal was about $6+! This might have just become my go to lunch spot. The cafe was so clean and aesthetically pleasing. Please be sure to stop by and leave a great tip for this wonderful team! 🙂
