I’m actually sitting here while writing a review, great coffee wonderful service and the ambience is first rate. I’m just visiting Oconomowoc but would rate Roots with the best coffeehouses in the country.

I enjoy coming to Roots to meet with friends or to do work! It’s quiet enough to focus on what I need to do but not so quiet that I feel awkward if I want to have a conversation (or I’ve even had a meeting here before and it worked perfectly). Their seating is comfortable and cozy. I haven’t eaten much of their food, but I get their coffee more regularly. I thought their cold brew was far to bitter but their lattes and other espresso based drinks are delicious.

Nice place to meet and enjoy the coffee with a friend. Only complaint is the service. They appear busy, so I understand the wait, but please acknowledge me and tell me you will be with me in a second. The silence, three customers in front of me, and no eye contact put me off at first. They did take care of me and brought my drink to the table with with a smile. Thank you for for the nice time.

I ordered online never been here before looked good so I thought I would try it. I was going to wait outside for my order but needed to use the bathroom and my husband said he was hungry so I thought I would checkout what they had see if there was anything he would like. WOW, I’m impressed! The staff was friendly. The inside was beautiful open and so much to look at. Great seating options too. Definitely a place worth more than a pick up and go. Will stop again and enjoy the atmosphere. Even my pen friend from Oregon wants to have some breakfast here when she visits.

Long lines usually mean the place has great coffee and/or food. I guess I expected more by all of the 5 star reviews & the long line. The pretzel was average, the lemonade & coffee were below average. The staff was nice. A hard pass when we’re back in town again.

We can’t meet at this place nor are we able to work here. The music is loud bad pop music. It is unbelievable that a cafe would play music this bad and this loud. When I worked in a cafe, and when you go to Starbucks, it is always soft indie type music. Now I know why all of my book club refuses to meet a roots, which happens to be a prime spot in Oconomowoc. I recommend for Stone Creek or Starbucks if you’re looking to meet with someone and actually have a conversation.

A happening place, bustling on a Tuesday morning. Had their breakfast burrito with egg, black beans, corn and sausage on a whole wheat tortilla ($7). It was yummy! They serve breakfast all day. Lots of seating, including high tables, low tables, couches and outdoors. Music is pretty loud, otherwise, it would be a good place to work online. Service was friendly and fast. Nice art.
