I had heard a lot about this place before I had visited. I finally decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I went with their breakfast burrito and you also have the option to smother your hashbrowns with cheese which I would highly recommend doing. We also tried their French toast sandwich, which was very, very delicious. I would definitely come back here. I would recommend everyone to try Root’d out at least once.

My friend and I were very impressed with the layout of the restaurant. They had outdoor seating and we took it knowing it is fall and we could get chilled. But we didn’t mind. That is what hot tea is for. The patio we sat in had painted murals on the brick work. It was very nice. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts to whet our appetite. We were pleasantly whetted. 😉 I tell you, they put the best roast on those sprouts, they were perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and the crunch melt factor was spot on!! The portion of the appetizer was very generous but not overwhelming. I ordered the salmon with quinoa, and my bestie ordered the chicken over rice. From what I could see from our dining neighbors, the dishes at Root’d are down home, comfort food. (As they should be). Simple ingredients turned into audible happy “oh my gosh you gotta try this” comments, dancing chews in our mouths! The Salmon was perfectly cooked, the portion was very fair, with a generous helping of quinoa. The greens that were served as a complement to the meal enhanced the flavor that much more. I was served a half lemon that had been grilled to perfection. I have no problem eating a lemon peel especially when it has been grilled. The grilled lemon topped the salmon perfectly. My meal was so tasty, I ate it slow to savor all of the wonderful flavor. My bestie said the chicken was very good, not dry at all, the flavors were very savory, and the rice complemented the meal very well. She said the greens that were served with her meal also complemented the chicken very well. It also came with a roasted lemon and roasted tomatoes. She said it was very delicious. We selected the ever-famous Beignets for dessert. The were rolled thin, fried to fluffy perfection, topped with confectioners’ sugar and served with raspberry sauce on the side. It was getting chilly now, the server, Emily, who was very effervescent, happy, friendly and helpful brought me a hot cup of chamomile tea. She was very nice, she spoke to everyone whom she encountered. She was very sweet and attentive. I believe a person who works hard serving a customer, deserves a generous tip. She was helpful with her co-workers and their customers. I base my tipping on those factors. She brought out a cup of hot tea. That first sip of the heated water cascaded down my throat and into my tummy and filled me with a warmth that I did not expect. It was a very soothing cup of tea. One I will make my way back to Root’d for, and a repeat of our wonderful dinner out. We plan to dine inside next time. Plus we will take our honey bunches and we plan to order completely different entrees as this time.

Where has this been my whole life? Wow! This 7-Eleven, turned into a restaurant is not one to pass up. I attended a dinner event here that had it all – the amazing food, live music, fantastic staff and an enthusiastic owner, Sean, who has so much passion for what he does.

Our table ordered the roasted brussel sprouts as recommended by our wonderful server, Emily (huge shout out!!), we each had the Brighton Balsamic Greens, then our entrees included: Steak and Frites, a French Dip sandwich, and salmon and quinoa. We finished the night with their cute and puffy beignets – heavenly little pillows. We also got to try their mocktails – polar bear and another drink I forgot the name of, but it was fruity and delicious!

What an incredible dinner showcasing what Root’d can do! Can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu for brunch and dinner again!

Server to the rescue!

I had heard so many good things about this place that I had to try. I always order eggs Benedict at a new to me restaurant. Properly done, that dish is an experience. There’s a lot going on with eggs Benedict and it’s a real test of cooking skills.

Unfortunately my plate was served up with the poached eggs way overcooked. The yolks were hard crumbly lumps. I ate one set and the Sauce Hollandaise the prosciutto were perfect. However it was missing the experience of breaking open the poached egg and having the yolk run down and mix with the sauce. I decided to bring it to the attention of my waiter. He (dang it I can’t remember his name) immediately apologized and offered to have the dish remade. A few minutes later he presented a perfectly cooked poached egg and fresh Sauce Hollandaise. The second set was rescued and was delicious!

I would suggest first of all that the cook should not have plated the over-poached eggs in the first place. Secondly, the servers should be trained to give the dish a slight wiggle to check for overcooked eggs. If the eggs just sit there like a lump the plate should not be served. I missed out on the experience of a perfect eggs Benedict. But… My server came to the rescue and I ended up with a great meal!

The atmosphere, coffee, prosciutto and Hollandaise were delicious! I’ll definitely be back.

Stopped in for lunch and was happy we did. Sat outside and enjoyed the Mountain View’s. Drinks were good I enjoyed the Bloody Mary with basically a small lunch on top. The French dip was good but needs a bit of attention. The meat was very scarce and a bit dry but the overall taste was good. Really enjoyed the fried pickles. the batter was tasty and not overly battered like some places do. All and all it was a good experience and we would go back for a quick bite.

We came here for Mother’s Day, and despite the crowds, the staff was on top of it. Jessica was our server and she absolutely crushed it with her recommendations, quick service, and attentiveness. The Superior Matcha (half sweet) was delicious. The breakfast burrito was, in a word, FRESH. You can tell they use high quality tortillas, freshly cracked eggs, all in a generous serving. The biscuits and gravy was flavorful, a little spicy, with just the right amount of sausage and top notch biscuits.

i was very excited to go here, and i never leave poor reviews.
service: Our waitress was very nice, welcoming
food: you could taste that their espresso machine isn’t clean, my latte tasted like cardboard, they gave my friend the very end of the pot twice, he also had grounds in the bottom of his cup. he also received his eggs cooked wrong and hash browns barely cooked.
The mac and cheese was not good at all i don’t even know what they did to it.
they had a hot sauce bottle filled with water???
environment: The big plastic thing was flapping loudly and hitting people. the music was insanely loud

Got Avocado Toast, Cajun Fries, and a Salad with Chicken added.
Not a big fan of the chili they put on the Fries. But the Fries themselves, were super good. Salad was good. Toast was decent. Wish they spread the Avocado out more across the bread. But overall it’s a cute spot, and the Service/Staff was super friendly.

Excellent brunch spot! The food was delicious and the service was kind and attentive.

Our favorite dish was the big cottonwood burrito . It’s an off menu item but it really needs to be on the menu! It was so good!

Highly Recommend:
– Beignets
– Big Cottonwood Burrito
– Breakfast Sandwich
– Maple Sausage Links
– Root’d Dawn Cocktail

Skip the mimosas. The pour is small for the price.
