This delightful restaurant in downtown Saluda has a super menu. I had the burger, a fresh side salad and wing chips. The burger was made to order with sauteed mushrooms and a great secret sauce. The salad was green and fresh and the wing chips — I should have ordered an extra order!!! While plentiful in the serving — they are just that good!
The restaurant is a blessing for the town of Saluda. There are photos of yesteryear from the town and surrounding community. It is a gathering place for all.
Service was exceptional and I was made to feel so so welcome. Stop in and support a local business — and have a delicious meal. Other items included wraps and Shrimp and Grits. I can’t wait to get back there and try them.

Stopped in for lunch on our way from Augusta to Gatlinburg. Delicious burger, patties are generous! Refreshing grilled chicken Cesar wrap and the nuggets for the kiddos aren’t the overly processed kind. Main entrance is in the back near the parking lot but you can enter from the street side too and walk thru an adorable little “street scape”

Passing through this pleasant country town and happened across this unusually “hip” little joint. I’m from Charleston, SC, so the vibe was familiar with our local cafes at home and this one didn’t disappoint either with excellent food, friendly service , beautiful music and clean and comfortable seating. I’ll be “passing” this way as often as possible to visit this special place again and again.

We tried some take out from this place last night. The whole crew absolutely loved it. We will be back to dine in as soon as we can. My daughter and son in law live in town and said they will make this a regular place now. The shrimp and grits were a huge hit. The sandwiches were fantastic. The atmosphere was very cute. We highly recommend Root 121 Cafe!

Ordered out the first time and the food was pretty good. Ordered the second time a few weeks later and it was average at best. Wife and daughter visited and ate at the restaurant and it was average. Was giving this restaurant one last chance with my daughter and waited awhile just to place a drink order. It was more than 10 minutes. You could tell that the staff was short and the employees working seemed stressed. You could hear the conversation between wait staff and kitchen staff. There was a lot of focus on one larger group in the restaurant and everyone else had to wait. Finally decided to leave when I felt it would take way longer than necessary to be served and I didn’t feel like staying at a restaurant that was overwhelmed. I always try to give all of my business to mom and pop businesses but sometimes they can shoot themselves in the foot and my family is not hard to please. It’s sad because Saluda needs more options when it comes to local dining.

My husband and I stumbled upon this cafe on 7/13/22, and I am glad we did! I ordered a white mocha iced latte that was really good. My husband ordered a wild berry smoothie and a blueberry smoothie which were also really good! And we ordered a chicken wrap to go that was very fresh, tasty, and filling. Overall, the staff, the food and the atmosphere were all terrific, keep up the great work, ladies!

Friendly, helpful staff. Food was very good. We tried the fried pimento cheese balls made with “in house made” pimento cheese…very good. I had the chicken Caeser wrap…full of white meat chicken and very tasty. Hubby got a burger…yummy. His fries appeared to be fresh cut and very good. I got the fried green tomatoes and they rank with the best!
